Perhaps I've never told it here how Dan and I managed to start our small business. Dan had been working for a small plumbing, heating and AC company and we were getting by but just barely. We certainly had no savings. The business owner decided to move out west and we were asked to run the business for him. After a year or so, he decided to sell and was asking 10,000 for the van, the tools and the phone number. We certainly didn't even have 1,000 much less 10,000.
We were in SS class one morning and Dan happened to mention to a friend that the business was for sale and he was wondering what he would do for a job. His friend (that we had no idea had any money) asked how much was being asked for the business and when Dan told him his comment was you can have it at half the rate a bank would charge, pay it back in any amounts, at any time whenever it works for you. How we praised the Lord and bought the business immediately. It was a very good success for us though we never tried to grow it or hire on more than just one helper because we felt that was just more risk than we wanted. We certainly didn't get wealthy but we had more than enough and were able to retire without undue worry. God was and is so kind and faithful.
