GE Appliances shifts more production to US as part of a $3 billion investment

TCC

Well-known

GE Appliances plans to shift production of refrigerators, gas ranges and water heaters out of China and Mexico as part of a more than $3 billion investment to expand its U.S. operations in Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and South Carolina.

The investment — the second-largest in the Louisville-based company's history — is expected to add more than 1,000 jobs while ramping up domestic production and modernizing plants in the next five years.

"Our long-term strategy is about manufacturing close to our customers," said CEO Kevin Nolan. "With lean manufacturing, upskilling our workforce and automation, the math works for manufacturing in the United States."

Its like Trump is making the world his swapmeet. Off the hook :p America is not coming back? How do we explain? In circles I have known, there is the need for it to just "go away." But it does not look like that will be our direction in the short term, hopefully. For me, in a way, whether my eschatology has merit or not, it is "enough" to witness the Providence of God "But God" kicking the goads against America must tank...lol. I so dearly love that about our sovereign Lord who is filled with love, compassion, care, and intimately wanting to bless whether we reckognize it so much. A taste of His living character outside of what we know to be intimately true in our own lives. Something put out for all the world to see. Makes me want to dance in the streets. lol. Blessings.

Glad I bought a GE refrigerator. An old family friend was a GE appliance repairman and he used to ride around in a GE truck. He only bought GE appliances but he could fix anything. I know things in the appliance world are a lot different now but for some reason I still favor GE appliances. Glad they are making positive moves even if it is for financial reasons.

Why didn't the democrats ever do this? 🤔
