A US military fighter jet crashed into San Diego Bay Wednesday – but both pilots reportedly ejected to safety.
The crash happened around 10:40 a.m., the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department confirmed, with the jet landing in the water off Shelter Island.
The neighborhood is directly across the bay from Naval Air Station North Island, an extensive navy base equipped for aircraft.
Both pilots were taken to a nearby hospital, according to KGTV.
