HOUSTON, Texas — A joint task force of federal, state, and local law enforcement officials led to the arrest of 16 members of the Venezuelan “Anti-Tren” gang, a spinoff faction of the Tren de Aragua foreign terrorist organization. Officials called it the “largest takedown of suspected Anti-Tren members and associates by the FBI, so far.”

U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Texas Nicholas J. Ganjei wrote, “The Southern District’s twin priorities are securing our border and the eradication of violent crime. This case implicates both.”

In an announcement on Monday, Ganjei said law enforcement officers with the FBI Houston Field Office, DEA, U.S. Marshals, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations, Texas Department of Public Safety, Harris County Sheriff’s Office, and the Houston Police Department teamed up to arrest 16 members of the Anti-Tren gang. He said the charges, which include drug trafficking and weapons offenses, were filed against former members and associates of Tren de Aragua (TdA).

For many years illegal aliens have been flooding across the border, many of them dangerous, violent criminals. We finally have a President who is stopping that flow and beginning to deport the criminals who crossed over into the USA in violation of our country's laws. While all illegal aliens are eligible for deportation, ICE is focused most on ridding our country of illegal aliens who are hardened criminals and other miscreants who are here to harm us in one way or another.

If a person is exposed to mainstream media, one might think that only those "immigrants" who are hard working, etc., are being targeted for deportation. Rest assured, legal immigrants are not being deported unless they have been found to be in violation of our laws. The focus is on illegal aliens who are criminals by virtue of being here illegally, with an even greater focus on illegal aliens who are hardened violent criminals.

The take down described in the article is one example of many actions being taken across the country, each of which will make us all a little safer. Our govmint, under our US Constitution, is required to protect US citizens from threats both within our borders and outside of our borders. Instead, our govmint was flying criminals into the country using the peoples' money and allowing millions of illegals to flood across our borders. Hopefully we will never have a govmint directly endangering US citizens ever again.

While it is imperative to properly vet future citizens who originate from other countries, I would personally be pleased if the entire process was made a little easier, and perhaps the numbers allowed in could be increased after we rid our country of illegal aliens.

We should never reward those who come to the country illegally. No matter how long they've been in country, they should be deported when discovered and arrested. On the flip side of the coin, we Americans appreciate legal immigrants and embrace them fully as our brother and sister citizens of the USA.

This is a hard truth for some, but I’ve personally witnessed green card holders who become citizens. They become more confident and grateful.

As a legal immigrant who has gone through the process of "years of paperwork, payments and patience" and is still waiting for the official oath ceremony that will finally make me an American citizen, I support this article 100 percent. Thank you for posting it, @Tall Timbers.

I agree.

And, while it's true there are those who are trying to escape horrible circumstances, the legal process allows for this. Additionally the legal process now being upheld is a preventative filter in also keeping those difficult circumstances from following them to the US through the very same illegal process previously permitted, that escapees themselves used. Not to mention preserving the freedoms and benefits of this country so highly sought out.

With this being said, I pray that God would mercifully work in the midst of all this....most of all that somehow the Gospel is responded to and spreads.
