Expect Great Things from God

Many people associate greatness with visibility, numbers, and applause. But in God’s Kingdom, greatness is often formed quietly—through obedience, faithfulness, and consistency in small things.

Some of the most important seasons of my life were not spent on big platforms or in large gatherings. They were spent in small communities, faithful service, and unseen obedience. Looking back, I can see clearly that God was preparing me—not promoting me.

To expect great things from God is to believe that He is able to work beyond our limitations. But expectation must always be matched with action. To attempt great things for God means saying yes when the task feels small, inconvenient, or unnoticed.

God often begins with what is available, not what is impressive. He uses faithful people, not perfect ones. When we obey Him in little things—daily prayer, consistent devotion, humble service—He multiplies those acts over time.

Never underestimate what God can do with steady obedience. A small seed, planted faithfully, will always produce a great harvest in God’s time.

Prayer

Lord, help me to remain faithful in small things. Give me the grace to obey You daily, trust Your process, and expect great things from You. May my life bring You glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reflection

What small act of obedience is God asking you to remain faithful to today?

I love Zechariah 4:10 the first part of the verse. In context it's talking about rebuilding the temple in Zech's day, and the challenges they faced. But they did what they could, and those who remembered Solomon's Temple wept with grief for the small Temple rebuilt in it's place. But size is not important- it's obedience.

Zech 4:10 NKJV
For who has despised the day of small things?
