That would have to be a local problem as the site is fine. Maybe try logging out and deleting any cookies for the site before logging back in.

Hit reply to my message, if they are still grayed out, on the top bar of your message, the one with all the different symbols,
click the [ ] and the gray will disappear and emojis option will be back

No Sir, Sir. It's just a title that implies you're the boss, and is meant in a good way ( a term of endearment). I have a suspicion that for years to come, many Americans will be calling their bosses "the big guy".
