Egypt’s large military presence in Sinai continues to raise questions

The considerable Egyptian military presence in the Sinai Peninsula and ongoing infrastructure work has some observers in Israel alarmed.

Officially, the Israeli defense establishment says that coordination between the two militaries remains tight and contributes to regional stability. However, the concentration of forces in Sinai is not easily explained by previous justifications such as fighting ISIS, and raises the more troubling, seldom spoken, possibility that President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi and his army view Israel as a potential future adversary.

On Feb. 4, Kan News, citing the Beirut-based, Hezbollah-aligned Al Akhbar newspaper, said Egyptian sources revealed that Cairo “conveyed an explicit warning to Israel in the military coordination meetings that the continued stay of IDF forces in the Philadelphi Corridor [on Gaza’s border with Egypt] would be considered a violation of the Camp David [Peace] Agreement between Israel and Egypt, and that Egypt would not be obligated to the agreement in the ongoing coordination regarding the situation of its forces on the border.”

The same report stated that “the Egyptian sources emphasized that Egypt’s messages are based on the adherence of the Palestinian factions to the clauses of the ceasefire agreement, on Cairo’s refusal to create a new geographic reality, and on the Israeli claim that it is possible ‘to eliminate Hamas.’”

Multinational Forces and Observers (MFO) are in the Sinai (includes US). NOT UN-affiliated.
Set up during Camp David Accords.
Egyptian military needs to be present in the Sinai, especially in A Zone, to protect the Suez Canal.
Remember the economic impact that stuck ship created awhile back?
Imagine the mess if even one of the locks were destroyed in a terrorist attack, or one or more ships sunk in the canal.
Or one ship deliberately rammed another, and their cargoes were incompatible and mixed

Egypt military buildup in Sinai threatens peace with Israel, source warns

Israel has recently observed a military buildup by Egypt in the Sinai Peninsula, according to a security source who spoke with reporters on Monday.

“Egypt has deployed forces beyond the permitted quota, expanded port facilities, and extended runways at airports,” the source said. The source added that these actions violate the peace agreement between the two nations.

Regarding the entry of Egyptian forces beyond the permitted quota, security officials emphasized that “such actions are reversible – it is not a problem to pull tanks back.”

'Israel will not tolerate Egyptian violations,' security source says

The security source emphasized that Israel is committed to maintaining the peace agreement and will not alter its deployment along the border. However, the source also added, “Israel will not accept the situation and will not tolerate violations from Cairo.”

Israel should advise Egypt diplomatically that if there isn't soon a withdrawal to acceptable levels in the Sinai, that after Israel conquers that part of Egypt once again it will never be returned to Egypt again, but will be annexed into Israel proper.

Israel should matter-of-factly tell Egypt to back up to their side of the Nile post haste :tap:

From the Nile to the Euphrates :tap:

and since the Egyptians "nationalized" (stole) the company that owned and built the Suez Canal, they have no right to it, and the Israelis can assume ownership, control, and operation of the canal without legal or other encumbrance :tap:

Egypt has always been the loose end that kept me from being on board with Bill Salus's Psalm 83 theory. And Jordan. Both "friendly" to Israel, yet both acting against Israel regularly. If they break out into war again, like 48, 67 and 73 this might actually be the time when Israel deals with ALL the near ring of enemies.

If EGYPT joins in this current war along with Jordan or even just parts of Jordan, it could be the Psalm 83 scenario.

Psalm 83 includes: Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Philistia (Gaza) and the tents of Edom and Ishmael which stands for the inhabitants of Judea and Samaria in the area Jordan took from Israel in 48, and renamed the West Bank.

Especially if Ezekiel 32:17-32 is considered as another passage mentioning a similar (not exact) set of people. It adds Turkey, Elam (south west Iran) and the princes of the North while it doesn't mention Gaza or the "west bank" area.

Ezek 32 has one of the 2 big Elam passages (the other is Jer 49) and Bill has long been saying this passage is yet to be completely fulfilled, and it ties the terrorism theme into the reason for this war that takes out Elam, as well as involving Egypt and Syria, Lebanon, Turkey and Jordan. It also involves a puzzling group known as the Princes of the North.

This is fascinating to watch, right at the same time as we are possibly about to see the Elam prophecies fulfilled.
