Dutch government collapses over Wilders’ migration demands

Dutch Government Collapses, Fresh Elections Loom: Wilders Walks Out Over Stalled Asylum and Border Reform

Dutch anti-mass-migration firebrand Geert Wilders is gambling on a snap election to give a fresh mandate to his border control plan, as he withdraws his party from the coalition government.

Geert Wilders blamed the other parties in the Netherlands’ four-way coalition government for refusing to sign off on his asylum and border reform plans, and for trying to change the original coalition agreement, when he withdrew the votes of his Party for Freedom (PVV) members of parliament on Tuesday morning. Prime Minister Dick Schoof, a technocrat installed as leader as the other parties were unwilling to crown kingmaker Wilders as Prime Minister himself, will make a statement to the Dutch parliament on Tuesday.

What the media doesn't say, is that the coalition pushed to turn their backs on Israel.
Wilders wouldn't stand for it, and the only way to block that was to blow up the government.
As a caretaker-government they can't change their standpoint (for now that is).

Is was a crazy situation anyway.
The coalition was so diverse, they couldn't achieve anything.
There was a lot of infighting between the coalition-parties.
And the things they did achieve, were shot down in the Senate.

It was a loose-loose situation. And it won't get much better.

Thank you, that gives much needed context for what happened.

As always, it revolves around Israel, and when we add that information, everything makes sense.

Praying for you all over there, elections aren't fun and coalition govts are inherently unstable.
