Democrat-led effort seeks to recognize Palestinian state

A group of US senators has introduced the first Senate resolution to urge the recognition of a Palestinian state, Reuters reported on Thursday.

The Democratic-led measure is unlikely to pass in the chamber, where President Donald Trump's Republicans hold a 53-47 majority.

Leading the push is Oregon Democrat Jeff Merkley, who stated, "America has a responsibility to lead, and the time to act is now." The resolution advocates for US recognition of a "demilitarized Palestinian state alongside a secure Israel," which Merkley believes would offer "both sides hope while boosting prospects for peace."

It will be interesting to see where this goes. Is it just me, or does it feel like we just went from 75 mph to 125 mph?

Fat chance of this bill being passed by the Senate.

The UN panel will meet on the 22nd to discuss 2 state solution.

From the UN web site:

“On 22 September, the United Nations will resume the High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia. The Conference will reaffirm international commitments to the two-State solution and seek to mobilize support for its implementation

This is nothing but capitulating to a certain group for political or financial gain. If statehood were ever to be granted, who is to lead the government? Hamas, a know murdering terror organization! Who draws the borders? This is just a political football being kicked around with zero to gain for the inhabitants of the area.

I will never understand why Israel provides anything for Gaza? Whatever their reasoning, their generosity has resulted in nothing but continued attacks and murders. Let the Muslim world provide water, electricity, food, and shelter.

I don’t see this have a chance in heck of passing and I’m thanking God that the Democrats didn’t win in November! No one in this world has any right to dictate what Israel will and will not do.

We need to move the U.N. out of our country while still keeping a hand in that game.

With all the drama drummed up about the 23rd rapture potential, and just how there seems to be quite a bit of news developments all the time 24/7, as well as so many left leaning national issues concerning Israel for decades now, one thing that is perhaps a bit overlooked (we have become so super used it) is how incredible a time we live in to see such large hot focus is on UN 22/23rd event this month. With Trump being there talking about "the many," and the UN trying to reclaim authority over the Gaza issue, what has me interested in this upcoming event is the super high profile (that certainly by this time seems so Johnny come lately) focus Israel is to world concern, news, and general worldwide public notice. This, in our day and age, might rightly provoke the question of if I have been living under a rock. Because it sounds strange even to me to say this, but we have become so familiar with the political games for so long, the fact of how super high profile Israel is in the world today seems to be so generically a socially acceptable obvious norm, we for well good reason don't see Israel as being so central stage in our day as being very remarkable.

But If in think of it, it is pretty amazing. That Israel would be so high profile in our world. How she is by no means on any level any small insignificant country. But instead what could be said about her in our day and age is that she (after America--and perhaps even greater than America in ways) seems to be extrelemly prominent in world releveant events of notice. It is just pretty fascinating to consider how consistently Israel fairs in world attention. Proportionately, it would certainly seem of Biblical proportion. Blessings.
