Catholic Leaders Petition to Remove Pope Francis

A coalition of high-level Catholic teachers and writers have produced an 18-page document of charges against Pope Francis demanding that he resign the papacy. They are accusing him of criminal behavior and heretical teachings. If he does not resign voluntarily, they are petitioning the College of Cardinals to remove him.

Signers of the petition include experts in canon law, editors of Catholic publications and prominent Catholic philosophers and theologians from around the world. They claim that Francis has violated canon law, natural law, divine law and the harboring and even promotion of clerical sex offenders.

The petition provides a list of cardinals, bishops, and other prominent leaders who are accused of sexual abuse of nuns, teenage girls, seminarians, and orphans. They are claiming that Francis did not adequately deal with them and even promoted some of them on to positions of higher authority.

Another major concern of the writers of the petition is the pope’s relationship to atheist China. They point out that Francis made a concordat (a type of treaty or agreement) with China in 2018. They claim that, as a result, the Pope immediately stopped talking about the persecution of Chinese Christians even though China reneged on their part of the agreement.

Pope Francis is in critical condition after a long respiratory crisis, requiring oxygen at high flow

ROME (AP) — Pope Francis was in critical condition Saturday after he suffered a prolonged asthmatic respiratory crisis while being treated for pneumonia and a complex lung infection, the Vatican said.

The 88-year-old pope, who remains conscious, received “high flows” of oxygen to help him breathe. He also received blood transfusions after tests showed low counts of platelets, which are needed for clotting, the Vatican said in a late update.

“The Holy Father’s condition continues to be critical, therefore, as explained yesterday (Friday), the pope is not out of danger,” the statement said. It was the first time “critical” had been used in a written statement to describe Francis’ condition since he was hospitalized Feb. 14.

This is going to be fascinating. Can’t wait to see his replacement, which will surely be even more
of a candidate for the false prophet.

Not everyone agrees that the Pope is/will be the FP. I think he will be. The RC church already has the administrative structure, everything already in place for a worldwide religion. All it needs is a leader. This current pope appears to be near death, even if he survives this episode. If the next pope turns out to be the FP, then that means the the AC must be in power not long before or after that. And, if that is the case, then the rapture must happen even sooner. If that's the scenario, then the rapture happens likely this year. That's speculative certainly but it fits the facts. But, to be fair, the Pope may not be the FP and if that is the case, then the appearance of the AC may be further out and, consequently, the rapture too. But, to the matter at hand, I do hope this Pope recovers, at least enough to recognize his (apparent) lostness and accept the real Jesus before he meets HIm in person.

Generally Pope until death, but Pope Benedict wasn't the first one to step down/retire/resign.

I was just on an unofficial Catholic website and they were speculating that a Pope will be AC, and that there could be anti-Pope(s), so multiple claimants to the Papal throne during the apostasy, which they say started with Vatican II.
