Trudeau is in deep trouble. And it may stem back to TRUMP šŸŽ‰ šŸ„³ who put pressure on Canada over the border with the 25% tariff threat.

Chrystia Freeland, his closest minister, Minister of finance, quit this morning. She is his all time favourite "yes woman" and the one who presided over stealing the trucker's bank accounts was due to give a state of the economy update today that had been delayed.

The deficit and debt (2 different things) are WAY worse.

Trudeau fired her on Friday, telling her he'd get her another cabinet minister job in his reshuffle. This was so she would take the full blame for the economic failure of the past decade since Trudeau came to power.

He was doing that to redirect blame, and position himself for the next election.

"
In a letter to Trudeau that was subsequently posted to her social media account, the outgoing deputy prime minister said she had no choice but to resign after Trudeau approached her Friday about moving her to another cabinet role.

"On Friday, you told me you no longer want me to serve as your Finance Minister and offered me another position in the cabinet," Freeland wrote, addressing Trudeau. "Upon reflection, I have concluded that the only honest and viable path is for me to resign from the cabinet."

Freeland also took a jab at Trudeau's handling of the country's economy, denouncing what she called the government's "costly political gimmicks" and imploring him to work collaboratively with the country's premiers to take on Trump's tariffs.

She conceded that she and Trudeau have been "at odds" in recent weeks."

Jagmeet Singh leader of the NDP (soft communist) is still propping up Trudeau's govt --his crack at a gold plated pension doesn't happen unless he and the govt last until Feb 25th according to this article by Rebel News so Trudeau may still keep his death grip on power till after that. https://www.rebelnews.com/jagmeets_payday

HOWEVER Trudeau is in trouble with Singh too, because he ordered Canada Post back to work in the last couple of days, which was a blow to the CUPW union of postal workers who have been on strike for over a month now, tying up passports, medical tests and prescriptions for people all across Canada especially in the North where Rx meds are dispensed via the post.

Singh is supposedly the one the unions love and look to. He's supposedly all about the "worker".

It's a nice perfect storm on this fine Monday morning here in Canada. Christmas gifts and cards that are behind the lines at Canada Post won't be here in time for Christmas, BUT WE MIGHT HAVE AN ELECTION SOON!!!!!

Colour me happy!

Trudeau considering his options as leader after Freeland quits cabinet, sources say

Trudeau is considering his options as leader, sources tell CTV News, after Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland revealed she will quit cabinet.

In an explosive resignation letter published Monday morning, Freeland ignited a storm of confusion and speculation on Parliament Hill the same day she was set to table her fall economic statement ā€“ a document that typically includes key economic metrics such as the size of Canada's deficit.

ā€œWe are calling for Justin Trudeauā€™s resignation,ā€ said NDP leader Jagmeet Singh in French during a scrum with reporters.

Sources tell CTV News that the prime minister has conveyed to cabinet that he is considering prorogation or resignation, and heā€™s potentially planning to address Parliament this afternoon.

Well it's Canada, and Trudeau is still here and clinging to the Prime Minister's office with a death grip.

Singh waffled and refused to take his support from Trudeau so Singh's pension still matters more than the country.

Singh is able to hang on till Feb 25 when his pension is secure because today Parliament goes on 6 week Christmas break. Nothing can be done during that time. Trudeau was counting on that when he ordered the Postal Workers to quit striking and go back to work. That gives him and Singh time for the unions to forget their problems.

Even when Parliament goes back to work they are likely going to do something called Prorogue things which pushes the can down the road for Trudeau so the next opportunity for a Non Confidence Vote is in the spring. They were saying March or April. That is when the Throne Speech has to happen and it is the next likely moment for a Non Confidence Vote.

Our version of democracy has it's hiccups.

Yesterday was as close to pitchforks and torches as Canadians ever get. The Liberal Caucus meeting was apparently "interesting". Her fellow Liberals gave Freeland a standing ovation in front of Trudeau. They didn't hold a vote on Trudeau's future and his speech was apparently all about his great performance. But even more Liberal MP's have signed onto the petition within caucus to get Trudeau out.

This is actually a great deal of progress in the right direction.

It's just going to take a while.

Unless Trudeau does the right thing and resign. But all accounts from insiders in the Liberal Caucus say that ain't happenin'. Trudeau seems to be under the impression that even though 80% of Canada wants him out yesterday, he still knows what's best for the country, and surprise, it's HIM!

He's never been known for brains, self reflection, humility etc.
