Canada’s Conservatives Call for Election Now: Trudeau Resignation a ‘Trick’ to Keep Left in Power

Canadian Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre condemned radical leftist Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s announcement on Monday that he would relinquish leadership of his country and the Liberal Party, dismissing it as a “trick” for the Liberals to stay in power and continue Trudeau’s policies.

“Nothing has changed,” Poilievre wrote in a message on social media. “Every Liberal MP and Leadership contender supported EVERYTHING Trudeau did for 9 years, and now they want to trick voters by swapping in another Liberal face to keep ripping off Canadians for another 4 years, just like Justin.”

“The only way to fix what Liberals broke is a carbon tax election to elect common sense Conservatives who will bring home Canada’s promise,” he asserted.

Poilievre called for an election “now,” not the scheduled election in October, to end the Liberal majority in Parliament.

Sadly Trudeau holds all the cards. Poilievre has tried everything he could to dislodge him.

Trudeau essentially suspended Parliament so NOTHING can get done. Not even funding for the added border enforcement required to comply with Trump.

He has forced the election to wait now long after May 24th because word is that he has struck a deal with the individual NDP MP's to vote alongside his Liberals to defeat any vote of Non Confidence. They are just like their leader Singh- they want to ensure their pensions because they know they won't see re-election ever.

Barring a miracle this means Trudeau is in power one way or another (either him or someone willing to take over a sinking ship which likely means one of his pals) until he HAS to call an election which is next fall.

So we could wait on funding for the border enforcement that Trump wants until the end of March or longer depending on how that spins out and meanwhile watch our economy crash and burn under 25% tariffs with no expectation that Trudeau will do anything useful in that situation because he is quite spiteful. It's how he's treated the truckers, it's how he's treated Jordan Peterson and its' how he treats anyone who "turns" on him.

And now that he's really angry with Canada for not loving his wonderful leadership anymore, he's going to make sure he gets even with us.

We are in deadlock till the fall barring a miracle.

Chances are he will spite the USA by leaving the borders more open than usual and importing even more drugs and terrorists just to spite Trump.

Maybe a comet from outer space could dislodge him - its frustrating to say the least.
