Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa Leader Dismisses Israel’s Present Right to Their Homeland!

I caught an interesting talk by Chuck's granddaughter in which she explains how bad it was and just how Brian took over the Calvary Chapel network as Chuck's health was failing. He and his wife were trying to stop Brian but it was too little too late.

I remembered this thread, and thought she made some really good points that lined up with what we all said above about the split, and how off the rails the CC Costa Mesa went under Brian.

It also connected some dots for me with stuff I remember around that time not that I was part of Calvary Chapel. Just that I was looking for an alternative to the church we were in, and a lot of what CC stood for appealed to both George and I. About that time Brian had taken over and it wasn't going well.

Last night thinking about the attacks on the various churches made me think about how God allows a sifting to happen. (@mikhen7 Mike Henderson's book The Sifted Generation touches on that process) It's like God allows the attack, to help people choose God's way. Choosing God actively, not just drifting passively in a good church. Taking a hard choice that involves losses in order to follow God.

I was thinking about that and looking back at the times that God allowed real discomfort with the churches I've been in. Go with the crowd or swim upstream, swim against the crowd. Something I read once said this: Only DEAD fish swim with current.

Division isn't all bad. God uses it to showcase His own by what they draw the line at. Chuck's granddaughter's talk is a good one.
To your point, the mass splitting of churches and the apparent apostasy that's been on full display over the last few years and getting worse, and only True believers can see it. It has brought to mind that it's obvious we're very very close to Jesus return and the time is near for harvest.
In Jesus' parable of the Wheat and the Tares, Matthew 24:24-52, Jesus said that the wheat and the Tares would grow together for a while, but when it's time for Jesus to return The harvest would take place and the wheat would be gathered and stored into Jesus barn, and the Tares would be gathered and thrown into the fire to be burned.
Yup. The false church is being exposed and separated from the wheat, which is the True church because harvest time is near.

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking last night Rose! So very close. The sifting is getting more evident by the day. Laodicea is in full flower it seems.

No church is perfect, but these days it seems that some churches and denominations are actually apostate instead of simply having errors or honest differences of opinion in non-critical doctrine (as in not Salvation issues and adiaphora, which are outside the core beliefs, as confessed in the Apostles' Creed).

Satan is the author of bringing everyone together in unity and inclusion. One world, one government, one religion, one AC. Babel 2.0 is on the rise.

I personally believe the NAR is the vehicle that is going to 'unite' the western false churches under the catholic church and the false prophet during the tribulation. You can see it coming together already.

However, Jesus divides. Truth from error, light from darkness, His wheat from Satan's weeds.

[Mat 10:34-39 KJV]
34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
36 And a man's foes [shall be] they of his own household.
37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

Absolutely correct, sister. And interestingly (to me at least) what you have written lines up exactly with a prophecy that I gave at an Assemblies of God Church in Alberta back in 2006. I didn't truly understand what I had said or why I had said it back then. I do not claim to be a prophet and I don't think I have ever prophesied anything other than that in my entire Christian life. But I clearly remember that at that time I was so impelled by the Holy Spirit that I just had to share with the congregation what he had laid on my heart. I also remember a lot of the congregation was upset with what I had said and approached the senior pastor afterward. He told me about it the following week but said he was glad I had spoken and not to worry about it; I guess it gave him an opportunity to speak to people individually.

Since that time, I've come across a number of God's servants (including a couple of well-known pastors) who were shown the same thing and who have spoken out to warn people of it. It is amazing to me to see that what God forewarned of through a number of people and in many places back then has come into full flower. God truly does nothing without telling his people first. (Amos 3:7-8). What confidence this gives us in the certainty of His Word! We truly can lean all of our being upon it.

I might also add that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are as operational today as they were at the foundation of the Church. So, if you ever hear a supposedly prophetic word given by any true Christian, lay or ordained, check it out against the Word of God. And if it lines up completely you can believe it. God is sharing something important with you for your benefit and His purpose.
