BREAKING: Hegseth Summons Military’s Top Officials Worldwide For “Rare and Urgent” Meeting at Marine Corps Base in Virginia

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has ordered all of the US’s top military commanders to gather at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, next week, according to the Washington Post.

Hegseth convened the meeting on short notice and without giving the military commanders a reason.

“The Secretary of War will be addressing his senior military leaders early next week,” Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell to The Post.

🤔 Hamas terrorist attack in the U.S. like the October 7th attack in Israel? Reduction in Force (RIF)? Deliberately weakening Commands and units around the world? Mandatory mRNA shots? Or just a massive, expensive boondoggle?

FWIW, the second article dismisses the idea of getting rid of Flag Officers at the meeting because they're bringing their senior enlisted. However, if the Flag Officer goes, perhaps his or her senior enlisted also goes. Fortunately, everyone there should be eligible for retirement based on longevity, so if a RIF happens and those "reduced" are not allowed to bump into other slots, they should all be able to retire.

Perhaps someone has an advance warning of when the Rapture will happen, and thinks it would be best to know who goes and who got left behind? Or a census of how many military execs are Christians so TPTB know where the vacancies will be? satan isn't stupid, and he has to know time's short, so may be getting his minions ready.

Hegseth Summons Generals and Admirals for Rare Meeting in Virginia

Updated on: September 26, 2025 / 1:08 PM EDT / CBS News

"Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has directed numerous generals and admirals, as well as some of their staff, from around the world to come to Quantico, Virginia, next week, U.S. officials confirmed to CBS News on Thursday.
"The Secretary of War will be addressing his senior military leaders early next week," said chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell. President Trump earlier this year signed an executive order renaming the Defense Department as the Department of War and Hegseth as Secretary of War, but the name can only officially be changed by Congress.
The Pentagon has provided no other details about the meeting to either the military leaders or the press.
The news of the meeting was first reported in The Washington Post.
There are regularly scheduled meetings with senior military leaders, but a meeting of this size — in person and on such short notice — is rare, if not unprecedented."

A Quick Analysis of Secretary Hegseth’s General Officers Meeting

"On September 25, the Washington Post reported that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has called an in-person meeting of up to 800 flag and general officers (FOs/GOs, or officers of one to four stars). This will take place “early next week” at the Marine base in Quantico, Virginia. The Department of Defense has confirmed such a meeting.
There is tremendous uncertainty about why this meeting was called. There are frequent meetings of general officers for specific purposes. For example, the 11 four-star combatant commanders come to Washington every year to meet with the secretary, the chairman, and the president. Each service has a meeting of its flag and general officers and often its senior civilians as well. However, the reported scale of this meeting is unprecedented."

"There were inconsistencies in the Washington Post article, so the meeting may not be as large as reported. The article states that 800 general and flag officers would be coming, but that is nearly all the 838 such officers (as of June 2025). However, officers on staffs will be exempt. There are many such officers, which would bring the number substantially below 800. Wherever the number settles out, the meeting would still be unprecedented.
Security at Quantico will be a nightmare. Such a gathering of military leadership would be a target for terrorists and protesters. The base is large, with thousands of inhabitants and workers. The base may give up on trying to conduct its normal training and education activities and just close for a day or two."

If I were to think out loud without really knowing anything about anything...

I'd figure there's no global threat that'll be addressed because if there was you wouldn't want all those prima donnas congregated in one place and away from their commands.

It might be to remind them all that there is a chain of command that they are subordinate to. Some 4 stars seem to get a god complex for some reason...

It might be to hand retirement papers to the ones that are coloring outside the lines, and to do it in front of all of them.

I wonder where they'll find room to park all those jets.

First reported by WAPO, they live for sensationalism. Numbers are probably much lower. I'm betting it is a get on board or get out warning!
Concur. Pete wants to be face to face when he delievers this message.

I also think they will discuss which staff positions occupied by a general no longer need a general, but a Colonel will do.

The goal is to reduce the general staff billets that are not a combat command.

Why Did Hegseth Just Call Hundreds of Generals To A Secret Meeting?

I haven't reported on it, but Denmark is having drone problems at it's airports. They are sure it's Russia, and I think it's most likely.

Sergei Lavrov was the spokesman for Putin this time, which means Putin is serious. He is trying to test the Nato alliance.

I perused President Trump's speech to the Generals... I'd say he didn't know his audience. He didn't tell them anything they didn't already know, and he went on way too long.
Agree. His comments should have been brief, and not a recap of all he has done. There is a time and place for a semi stump speech, but in front the the most senior members in the military is not that time.

Trump and Hegseth Declare End of ‘Woke Military,’ Launch ‘War Department’ Era

Speaking before hundreds of generals, admirals, and senior officers at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Hegseth declared the end of “politically correct, overly sensitive leadership” and demanded that every service member, from privates to top generals, meet stringent new standards.

Hegseth said all troops must pass physical fitness tests twice yearly and adhere to strict height, weight, and grooming standards. “Frankly, it’s tiring to look out at combat formations and see fat troops,” he said. “It’s completely unacceptable to see fat generals and admirals leading commands around the world. It’s a bad look.” He ordered that combat standards return to the “highest male level only,” with gender-neutral metrics applied across all roles.

The secretary also promised to overhaul the Pentagon’s inspector general and equal opportunity systems, which he said had been weaponized to push “frivolous complaints” that slowed warfighting. Officers unwilling to embrace the changes were urged to resign. “You are hereby liberated to be an apolitical, hard-charging, no-nonsense constitutional leader that you joined the military to be,” Hegseth told the assembled officers.

Hegseth convened the meeting on short notice and without giving the military commanders a reason.
They don't need a reason. If your boss (military or civilian) calls a meeting and tells you to be there, you best be there or risk termination.

Same goes for assignments. It is perfectly acceptable to ask questions, or offer alternatives, but ultimately the employee must do what they are told. Of course, the task must be within their responsibility, ethical, and legal. So many today think they can pick and choose which tasks, or rules they follow which is why we are in trouble today. There is just no respect for authority anymore which causes chaos.

This is my grumpy old man post of the day!

The deep state is alive and well in the military and even if it's not, they have way too many fat, sassy, and lazy leaders, etc.

Most military officers are conservative and patriotic. It's as you rise in rank that people that really don't belong in the military might get promoted for political reasons or just because they're politically savvy. And of course there is a group that went in so they could get free sex changes... hope all of those have been kicked out.
