Blue Letter Bible App Changes to ESV

Ghoti Ichthus

Genesis 18:32, 2 Chronicles 7:14, Acts 5:29
I have the KJV and ESV side-by side in the Blue Letter Bible app.
When I opened the app to follow the Scriptures while Pastor read aloud at the Wednesday church, a popup indicated there was an update to the app, re changes in the ESV and called it ESV 2025.

I didn't take the update, but I wonder how long until it's forced, or other changes to various translations are required and forced by either the app or TPTB.

Makes me appreciate and treasure the reliability and veracity of hard-copy Bibles even more.

From what I've been able to ascertain, the changes look fairly benign, and a couple of changes revert back to the KJV rendering. They're supposed to be phased in during 2025 and 2026.
I wish that they would label Bibles with the translation iteration so we would know what it is we're reading.
I looked at Genesis 3:16 in the change list and it looks like my Lutheran Study Bible makes use of the 2001 ESV, I'm going to contact Concordia and make sure, though. Maybe have to buy a large print copy before it changes, for if/when I need it when I get really old [sigh]
