Amir posts "Unilateral ceasefire by IDF in Gaza in honor of Muslim holiday observation"

Well-known
It seems that the IDF announced today a unilateral ceasefire in the Gaza Strip in honor of the Feast of Sacrifice.

As of last night, there were no attacks in the Strip and the Arabs do not report any military activities in the Strip

Hamas slaughtered our people during a Jewish holiday, and since October 7th every Jewish holiday such as Passover and Shavuot (weeks) was accompanied with massive strikes mostly from the north by Hezbollah.

And we, the people accused for creating genocide, hunger and apartheid, are honoring their festivals.

**This explains why "The IDF Ceasefire"

Why did the IDF announce a ‘daily’ humanitarian ceasefire?
The Israeli army announced Sunday morning that it would cease fighting in the Rafah area for several hours each day in order to increase the flow of humanitarian aid into the Strip, sparking harsh pushback from lawmakers and triggering a hasty clarification.

An official army press statement stated that the military would implement a “tactical pause” from eight a.m. until seven p.m. on a daily basis along a key Rafah road, until further notice, to facilitate the entry of additional aid from the Kerem Shalom crossing into the coastal enclave.

According to a Ynet report, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant was incensed, as he was not informed of the decision in advance and only learned about the new policy when it was announced to the public.

Gallant was particularly angry about the timing of the announcement, as 10 soldiers were killed in Gaza in two separate incidents over the weekend, and an additional soldier died of wounds he sustained in battle several days earlier.

IDF announces controversial 11-hour fighting pause on Rafah corridor after bloody weekend of fighting

On Sunday the IDF announced “daily, tactical pauses of military activity in Gaza for humanitarian purposes. These pauses will occur from 08:00 to 19:00 until further notice, along the road entering Gaza from the Kerem Shalom Crossing. As we continue our efforts to dismantle Hamas, we simultaneously continue our humanitarian efforts on the ground to ensure that Gazan civilians have access to necessary aid.”

Despite similar moves in the past, the length of the pause and the timing of the announcement coming on the heels of the loss of 11 soldiers caused outrage among several hawkish politicians, with Israeli media reporting that the announcement wasn’t coordinated with either Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu or Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

“After an inquiry, the Prime Minister was informed that there was no change in IDF policy and that the fighting in Rafah continued as planned,” the Prime Minister’s Office stated in response.

After ministers Ben Gvir and Smotrich sharply criticized the army, Netanyahu reiterated that the decision wasn’t approved by him during a government meeting: “In order to reach the goal of eliminating the military capabilities of Hamas, I have made a number of decisions that not always were to the satisfaction of the army. We have a state with an army, not an army with a state.”
