All The Way My Savior leads Me

Kem

Well-known
All the way my Savior leads me;
What have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt His tender mercy,
Who through life has been my guide?
Heav’nly peace, divinest comfort,
Here by faith in Him to dwell!
For I know, whate’er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well;
For I know, whate’er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well.

All the way my Savior leads me,
Cheers each winding path I tread;
Gives me grace for every trial,
Feeds me with the living bread.
Though my weary steps may falter,
And my soul athirst may be,
Gushing from the rock before me,
Lo! A spring of joy I see;
Gushing from the rock before me,
Lo! A spring of joy I see.

All the way my Savior leads me
O the fullness of His love!
Perfect rest to me is promised
In my Father’s house above.
When my spirit, clothed immortal,
Wings its flight to realms of day
This my song through endless ages—
Jesus led me all the way;
This my song through endless ages—
Jesus led me all the way.
~Fanny Crosby 1875

Blessed Assurance, by Fanny Crosby my favorite. Fanny was blind most of her life since early childhood. Fanny was a Methodist back when most main line churches actually believed
the Bible as God's word. Then in the early 20th Century along came the "social gospel" and churches started turning to science and philosophy
Fanny wrote Blessed Assurance with a friend after a Sunday church service. Other famous hymns came from just ordinary believers.
A surprising number of hymns came from believing women like Fanny when women were expected to be passive.
My upbringing was in liberal Protestant churches, Unitarian, until I was about 8 or 9' then in the Disciples of Christ; and as a teen in Unity.
I liked the youth group in Unity, but they really corrupted this one song, "Leaning on the everlasting arms", only they
substituted "leaning on the everlasting light." I thought before I was saved it was supposed to be "leaning on the ever-
lasting light until I found out it was supposed to be ARMS. Thank God for His arms!
Sometimes, I think that there is more good doctrine expressed in many of the great hymns of faith and even some CCM songs than comes from pulpits, preachers, pastors, and churches.
I will listen to Christian music before I listen to these money hungry so-called Christian TV preachers. Too many Christians check their minds at the door of their church or TV evangelist instead of being Bereans and checking out and studying their Bibles to find the truths. When I was first saved a Christian friend of mine warned me that most church goers
are "spoon-fed" meaning they just go along with whatever they are taught at church.
