Abbott says over 100 teachers will have certification suspended over Charlie Kirk social media posts

Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Monday said over 100 teachers in the state will have their teaching licenses suspended over inappropriate social media posts related to the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

Many employees nationwide have been fired or suspended over social media posts related to the assassination so far. School employees in Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, Mississippi and Pennsylvania are currently under investigation for what they wrote on social media regarding Kirk's death.

Abbott said the Texas Education Agency is investigating teachers in the state who have "called for or incite violence following the Charlie Kirk assassination."

"Those educators—more than 100–will 'have their teacher certification suspended and be ineligible to teach in a Texas public school,'" Abbott posted on X.

These are the ones who instigate violence, who train the young people to ignore free speech and murder those they disagree with. They are the ones who confuse democracy with conforming to leftism and who allow diversity in only those who agree with them philosophically.

They teach the children to become like them.

At some point here the law is going to have to determine which occupations require conformity of speech on social media and which do not.

Children who can easily look up their teacher's views by searching for their social media need to have teachers who adhere to a code of conduct requirement that extends to social media.

CIA officers for example are NOT allowed to post anything they want on social media.

Banking and Investment firms might not care what people post unless it's talking about insider trading, the end of the banking system etc.

There is a general attitude that when you are at work, you adhere to the dress codes, etc and you accept limits on freedom of speech. After work you are on your own, and the state doesn't belong in your business.

But with social media these lines are blurred. When the Constitution was framed and freedom of speech guaranteed, social media wasn't invented yet.

It might come down to allowing restricted speech for certain jobs, or detailing what cannot be discussed on social media - and allowing those who violate those terms to be immediately dismissed.

UNTIL the law catches up to the wild west of social media, the Constitution will be examined in the courts.
