A Sinning Born Again Believer
We as Christians will never stop sinning while in our current undegenerated body, nor does God expect that of us. That does not mean however that we should not stop sinning to the best of our ability. If we choose to live a lifestyle of sin we will not be happy and God will discipline us.
1 Peter 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
The verse above is stating that as a Christian our soul will not be happy when we indulge in fleshly lusts.
Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Hebrews 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Hebrews 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
Hebrews 12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
Hebrews 12:10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
The verses above state that God will discipline (chasten) us if we choose to live in sin.
