A Sinning Born Again Believer

Goodboy

Just waiting for the Rapture at this point!
A Sinning Born Again Believer

We as Christians will never stop sinning while in our current undegenerated body, nor does God expect that of us. That does not mean however that we should not stop sinning to the best of our ability. If we choose to live a lifestyle of sin we will not be happy and God will discipline us.

1 Peter 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

The verse above is stating that as a Christian our soul will not be happy when we indulge in fleshly lusts.

Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Hebrews 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Hebrews 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
Hebrews 12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
Hebrews 12:10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

The verses above state that God will discipline (chasten) us if we choose to live in sin.

Thank God for The Holy Spirit Who indwells us.

Jesus said,

“If you love Me, keep My commandments"
John 14:15

Because of The Love of God, He knows we can't keep His law, so The Holy Spirit indwelt us to be our Helper and Counselor and convict us of our sins, to lead us to repentance, to get us back on the right path to walk upright with our Lord.

Obedience is a practice that we must engage in.
We all fall short of God's Glory.
But it's the practice of sin that causes us to lose fellowship with God and lose rewards.

Our salvation is secured and sealed but those rewards are precious and valuable because they are how we will be serving our Lord in His kingdom.

Some say, rewards don't matter so long as they get to heaven, but it's not that simple.
We will all stand before The BEMA Seat of judgement whether we did good or bad and it will impact us when we find we have lost privileges in serving our Lord Jesus.

Serving Jesus is an honor and we want to strive to get those rewards and hold on to them.

Losing fellowship with God is not a good place to be in.
We want to do our utmost to gain rewards and to remain in fellowship with God.

The renewal of our minds is a process and we don't want to revert back to being carnal, but to practice walking in The Spirit so we are pleasing our Holy God

When we do everything as though doing it for God, we're more likely to remain upright with God.

"And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men" Colossians 3:23
