500 Marines ready to deploy to Los Angeles amid major riots

U.S. Northern Command confirmed on Sunday that roughly 500 U.S. Marines were prepared to deploy to Los Angeles and the surrounding area in California following massive left-wing protests that turned into violent riots over the weekend.

On Sunday, U.S. Northern Command announced that in addition to the 300 members of the California National Guard deployed to the Los Angeles area and the roughly 2,000 National Guardsmen authorized by President Donald Trump to be deployed in response to the violent protests in Los Angeles, “Approximately 500 Marines from 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines at Twentynine Palms, California, are in a prepared to deploy status should they be necessary to augment and support the DoD’s protection of federal property and personnel efforts.”

The Post Millennial reported that activists protesting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in Los Angeles have held demonstrations in the area since last Friday. According to the outlet, many of the protesters displayed Mexican flags and called for ICE officials not to execute Trump’s illegal immigrant deportation operations.

My heart aches over this enraged hatred and vile evil that is in the hearts and heads of many. While the Holy Spirit is here and God hasn't taken away the bride, it is still time to pray for them. If this boils over terribly and the country goes into pockets or mass civil war, I suppose we still have that charge. But, sooner or later the King of Kings and Lord of Lords is going to ensure His bride hears the trumpet and rises up for 7 years while this only worsens globally. Heart breaking for sure.

Marines will be deployed to LA to respond to immigration protests

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Pentagon planned to deploy about 700 Marines to Los Angeles on Monday to help National Guard members respond to immigration protests, three U.S. officials said, as California prepared to sue President Donald Trump over his use of the Guard troops and growing numbers of demonstrators took to the city's streets for a fourth day.

The Marines were moving toward LA from their base at Twentynine Palms in the Southern California desert, the officials said on condition of anonymity to discuss military plans.

Trump threatens to arrest Gavin Newsom as troops descend on Los Angeles

President Donald Trump threatened Monday to arrest Gov. Gavin Newsom, a striking example of Trump attacking a fellow elected official just as National Guard troops deployed in Los Angeles amid protests over immigration actions.

Trump made the comments in Washington, D.C., after a reporter asked the president if he thought Tom Homan, whom Trump appointed as a “border czar,” should arrest Newsom if he attempts to block immigration enforcement. Trump quickly said he approved of arresting the Democratic leader.

In all the local reports and videos I've seen about LA protests over the weekend, I've not seen any riots. There is so much misinformation out there now.
This video shows protestors setting cars on fire indicating rioting

I believe it was like 2-4 cars.......... which is bad, but probably done by the same person or small group who acted out of
anger. But, by and large there were no other fires set, no fighting in the streets, no looting. For the most part it was a
peaceful demonstration with maybe a few people doing what they shouldn't. It hardly constitutes "major riots"!
Think Rodney King............... those were riots. Which is why I say there is a lot of misinformation out there. It's the norm for
news broadcasting anymore.

SUBJECT: Department of Defense Security for the Protection of Department of Homeland Security Functions

Numerous incidents of violence and disorder have recently occurred and threaten to continue in response to the enforcement of Federal law by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other United States Government personnel who are performing Federal functions and supporting the faithful execution of Federal immigration laws. In addition, violent protests threaten the security of and significant damage to Federal immigration detention facilities and other Federal property. To the extent that protests or acts of violence directly inhibit the execution of the laws, they constitute a form of rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States.

In light of these incidents and credible threats of continued violence, by the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby call into Federal service members and units of the National Guard under 10 U.S.C. 12406 to temporarily protect ICE and other United States Government personnel who are performing Federal functions, including the enforcement of Federal law, and to protect Federal property, at locations where protests against these functions are occurring or are likely to occur based on current threat assessments and planned operations. Further, I direct and delegate actions as necessary for the Secretary of Defense to coordinate with the Governors of the States and the National Guard Bureau in identifying and ordering into Federal service the appropriate members and units of the National Guard under this authority. The members and units of the National Guard called into Federal service shall be at least 2,000 National Guard personnel and the duration of duty shall be for 60 days or at the discretion of the Secretary of Defense. In addition, the Secretary of Defense may employ any other members of the regular Armed Forces as necessary to augment and support the protection of Federal functions and property in any number determined appropriate in his discretion.

To carry out this mission, the deployed military personnel may perform those military protective activities that the Secretary of Defense determines are reasonably necessary to ensure the protection and safety of Federal personnel and property The Secretary of Defense shall consult with the Attorney General and the Secretary of Homeland Security prior to withdrawing any personnel from any location to which they are sent. The Secretaries of Defense and Homeland Security may delegate to subordinate officials of their respective Departments any of the authorities conferred upon them by this memorandum.

DONALD J. TRUMP

I’m thinking it’s the same as what happened with the George Floyd riots: the relatively decent folks who are legally exercising their right to peacefully protest are out during the day. The looters and violent people come out at night. During the Floyd thing, news reports often showed just the daytime and I believe that’s what may be happening now.

As bad as it’s getting in LA, I’m thankful the National Guard has been there to assist, because who knows how bad it would be now if they were not deployed.

I lived 25-30 miles away from the Rodney King riots, and prayerfully, this won’t get anywhere near as bad as that riot was.

Marines are in standby mode.

Praying this mess settles down soon. Without loss of innocent life. Especially for protection of the National Guard and the Marines if they are deployed into this. The governor of Cali seems intent on escalating the rhetoric, which is bound to put people in a mood to get really violent especially with the police or armed forces.
