2025 Samsung TVs can monitor your pets and family with inbuilt camera

A person who has had a tv most or all of their lives most likely can't understand how poor the quality of programming is.
It is insidious. I’ve gone without TV several times, for years at a time. Since 2010 I haven’t had one. I found that when it was on, even if the program was good, most ads are such a subtle and nefarious satanic attack. Ads that aren’t evil are normally inviting people to spend more than they need to, or become envious, or focus on selfish stuff, etc.

For me it was a problem because I’d automatically turn it on before work, even if I wasn’t sitting down to watch anything. This last TV removal was a gift from the Lord. Instead of TV I now start nearly every morning in the Bible. It amazes me how God grips my mind through His word when there aren’t minor distractions.

I watch movies and TV series on my computer. Though it seems like the same thing, for me it’s not because select movies or series on devices are not sucking me in like TV used to. Maybe that’s an indication of weakness on my part. All I know is that mornings in the Bible would be less powerful if I had the TV on in the background.

I guess in both cases you're sitting in front of a screen, hopefully being entertained. A person who has had a tv most or all of their lives most likely can't understand how poor the quality of programming is. Over the decades it's gotten worse and worse. Programs are so full of libtard bias, indoctrination, exposure to deviancy, propaganda, etc. I only know that from when I visit family and they've got the tv on in the evening. I've seen the decline over the decades, seen it go from bad to horrible. The changes have been insidious. I don't believe a person who spends some time watching tv programming most evenings sees how bad it is because of constant exposure over time. Then there is the news... pure propaganda and indoctrination. Talk shows? I could never listen to talking heads, but those seem to be real popular. Sporting events? I've got no skin in that game. Movies made for tv are quite a bit different than movies made by the studios for the big screen, though now many are made to be streamed, but the budgets tend to be massively larger than budgets for tv movies.

In a nutshell, tv offers me nothing I want to spend time with. I can enjoy a good movie now and then. I do search the internet in search of real news, but that is mostly a losing proposition.

TV has had a very negative impact on society. I saw first hand how it can turn lives upside down when I was in a 3rd world country and electricity was introduced to a rural area. People could sell a cow and buy a tv with the proceeds, and those who did saw their lives immediately turn upside down as in lieu of continuing their productive and social lives they became glued to the tv screen, watching soap operas in the middle of the day.
I understand most of what you posted, and its why there are only certain shows we watch, and some sports.

My point is control of what one watches is important. However, the internet is far worse on society, especially kids. Through the internet one can access for free all sorts of perversions , violence …etc…that can not be accessed on TV.

My TV watching pretty much consists of watching a bit of Fox news in the morning and then turning the thing off till after supper if and when I don't feel like reading. The only thing that I watch most of the time is either Gardener's World or Martha Stewart Living. Boring to most but I do love seeing those flowers, shrubs and trees. Also learning all the proper names and how to care for them.

I have watched a few Christmas movies and enjoyed Anne of Green Gables, All Creatures Great and Small and The Secret Garden. Oh and of course Lord of the Rings. I have to see that at least once a year.

Original quote.....Big Brother Is Watching!.....In 2026 the quote needs a revision to include non-Government (Big Brother) hackers and TV manufacturers. As I recall with Snowden or the other dude regarding camera/internet connect PCs, Tablets/Notebooks, Phones, etc......you ARE being watched and probably listened to. Is this frightening? Yes for most but no for some. However, it is frightening with no doubts when people have the camera lens accessible and pointed in a position that can result in video and pics of personal "compromised" times and clothing situations. If they see me in my normal blue jeans, long sleeve T shirt, tennis shoes, and a ball cap, I suppose I'm good with that; but I'd guess there are a bunch of perverted uses of unsuspecting humanity; including women, girls, and children in general.

I have a Bandaid over the lens of my netbook and keep the microphone turned off  Have to check the mic after every update. The phone I keep folded and face down, so at least the cameras can't "see," but not a lot I can do about the mic/listening.

The TV in the bedroom is an old, pre-digital analog heavy thing that needs a converter box to decode what can be pulled in with an antenna, so no visual spying, but not sure how much of the converter box is "two-way." I only have it so if I'm seriously sick or hurt. I do need to find my old cheapie DVD player in storage and hook it up, though, so DVDs would be accessible.

The TV in the LR is my Parents' old smart TV. No bluetooth connectivity and other modern smart technology, but I'm "sure" it watches and listens. I've long thought that playing an audio Bible to the TV while it listened might help someone, somewhere. If nothing else, it'll tell TPTB who to round up when the time comes
