βSo then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.β (1 Thess 5:6)

This scripture is all about watching for Christβs return for us. That is clearly the context. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

Here we are 2,000 years later and the urging is that much more critical. Itβs time to recognize the hour in which we are living, for βour salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.β (Romans 13:11)

We are either watching for and expecting Christ to come β βeagerly awaiting our Saviorβ (Phil 3:20) β or we are βasleepβ, and are exhorted by the Word of God to wake up.
SO? WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE TO BE ANTICIPATING CHRISTβS RETURN?
Consider these 3 analogies:

A BRIDE-TO-BE. Isnβt she filled with joyful longing as her wedding day draws near? Doesnβt she live in purity as she awaits the consummation of her promised union with her bridegroom?

LIFE SENTENCE INMATE. If this inmate knows he is soon to be pardoned and released β doesnβt he live in peace and in great hope in his forthcoming freedom? (Gal 1:3-4; Eph 5:14-16) #NoMoreStrugglesWithSin

A FOREIGNER WHO IS HOME-BOUND. This person has lived on foreign soil a long, long time. But he knows that soon and very soon, his exile there is almost over and he will be leaving for his beloved homeland, the place of his citizenship, where everyone is dearly-loved like family. How can he not live with joy and confidence? (Phil 3:20)

ββ¦looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.β (Titus 2:13)

DID YOU KNOW? End times Bible prophecies are being fulfilled today as never before in previous generations. Christ can come at any time for His Church.
Eagerly awaiting Jesus, our Blessed Hope!
