President Donald Trump appears to be in no hurry to resolve the ongoing government shutdown, according to analysis by CNN’s Harry Enten.

That’s because, according to the CNN data analyst, it doesn’t seem to be hurting him politically as much as it is hurting Democrats. In fact, Enten says, Trump’s faring well.

Enten compared Trump’s current net approval rating to his standing during the 2018–2019 shutdown, noting that at a similar point in that earlier standoff, Trump’s approval had already declined by three percentage points and “would fall considerably more.”

Apparently there is an agreement that will see the govmint shutdown end. If that's the case, I guess the demonrats didn't want to spoil Thanksgiving for millions of voters... too risky.

haven't seen the news today so I'm glad I read this. Praying that they all follow thru and allow the govt employees whether military or civilian to get paid for their efforts. Not to mention those in dire circumstances who rely on aid such as the disabled.

I can't ever tell who to believe. Some say the pause on govt aid is a good thing, weeding out the scammers. I'd agree, hard as it is on those in genuine need.

Here in BC we had a postal strike back when welfare cheques were mailed out. People had to show up in person to claim their benefits! Oh the horror!



We trimmed the welfare rolls nicely and got rid of a lot of claimants over the age of 90 who had died, but their descendants continued to claim, then the ones who had multiple claims under several aliases and the other bums and scammers.

We need something like that again to clean up the waste.

Hope that cleans out a bunch of claimants that have no business feeding off the govt handouts meant for those in dire need.

The democrat's biggest argument was about Obamacare premiums. Obamacare is a democrat creation that was supposed to fix healthcare for the needy. They own Obamacare. I think the Republicans missed an opportunity to remind everyone who was responsible from the beginning. It was one big lie from the get go.

Not one Republican in the House, or the Senate voted for obamacare when it passed in 2009.

Republicans have been reminding people throughout the shutdown how bad obamacare is and that it needs to be changed.

Senate finally passed the bill. Since they made changes to the House Bill, the House will have to vote for approval possibly tonight but more likely tomorrow. The House always has drama, but hopefully this will pass and Trump signs the bill immediately after the vote.

The bill passed through the House rules committee. Next up, a test vote in the House. Later tonight, the bill will likely be voted on by the entire House where its projected to pass, mainly along party lines.

Shutdown should be over tonight.
