The Department of Homeland Security on Wednesday unveiled the latest top criminals nabbed as part of Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) crackdown on illegal immigration.
The roundup is part of DHS's "worst of the worst" program, which aims to highlight the most extreme criminals the agency apprehends as part of President Donald Trump's mass deportation initiative.
As of late January, DHS reported roughly 700,000 physical deportations and a further 2.2 million self-deportations, totaling roughly 3 million departures since President Donald Trump took office. He has set a goal of removing as many as 22 million illegal aliens from the country.
“Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, ICE law enforcement will not back down from its mission to keep Americans safe by removing dangerous criminal illegal aliens from our neighborhoods,” acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said in a statement. “Yesterday, ICE arrested criminal illegal alien murderers, child predators, weapons traffickers, and other heinous criminals. If you come to our country illegally and break our laws, we will find you and arrest you.”
