Who’s Your Daddy?
Here is a story…
A man with very bad knees living in Florida won a free ticket to Disney World and had no one to go with, so he went by himself. Unfortunately he chose to go at the peak of the tourist season as he was not aware that the seasonal crowd would be there. When he entered the park and saw how long the lines were, he did not want to wait on them as his knees could not take the stress. So the man just sat down on a bench near one of the best attractions.
As the man was sitting there with a sad expression on his face a young girl sat down next to him. The girl introduced herself and said that her name was Sasha. Sasha noticed how sad the man looked and asked him why he was so sad in such a happy place. The man stated that he would love to see the attractions, but could not wait on the long lines because of his bad knees. Sasha told the man to wait five minutes and she would be right back. When she came back she gave the man a pass to go to the front of the line which the man did.
When the attraction was over the man was surprised to see that Sasha was still sitting on the bench. He sat down and thanked her for the pass with a big smile. After a while the man began to look sad again. Sasha asked the man why he was sad now. She asked him if he wanted another pass to go to the front of the line. The man answered “no, but thank you.” He said he actually had much bigger problems. Sasha asked him what his bigger problems were and that maybe she could help.
The man said while he really appreciated the line pass and had no idea how she got that for him, she could not help with his bigger problems. Sasha insisted that he tell her what his big problems were anyway as she just might be able to help in some way. The man reluctantly decided he would tell Sasha. The man said, “I hope you are not in a rush because I have a long list of problems.” As not to waste Sasha’s time, the man then decided that he would just tell Sasha his two biggest problems.
The man said that first of all he had done all the paperwork and passed all the tests to become a US citizen, but due to a clerical error they said he would need to wait another year. The man said that he needed his citizenship in order to get his dream job of working at the post office. As there was really only one job opening at the post office though, the man stated that even if he did have his citizenship the chances of him getting the job were slim to none.
The man said to Sasha, “Well there you have it. Can you help me with those two big problems?” Sasha responded “I am not sure, but I am willing to try. She then asked the man to give her his E-Mail address and she would send him an E-Mail after a while to see how things worked out for him. Although the man did not think Sasha could help him in any way, he decided he would give her his E-Mail address anyway. He thanked Sasha again and then left the park and went home.
Two days later the man received a call from immigration and they told him that his citizenship had been approved. The man was shocked. How weird was that, but it must be a coincidence as this little girl could not have done anything. Either way the man was very happy and prepared a resume to send to the post office. The next day the man received a call from the post office telling him that he got the job, but he had not even applied yet.
Now the man was totally shocked. How was this possible? The man had heard about witchcraft, but never really believed in it. Now he was unsure. Was this little girl a witch? How else could he explain the fact that she offered to help him with his big problems and now miraculously he was a Citizen with his dream job at the post office? While the man was extremely happy, he was at the same time a little concerned with how this had happened to him.
So the man picked up his citizenship and started his new dream job at the post office. A week later he received a letter from Sasha. The man was kind of afraid to open the letter. The man thought to himself “Suppose Sasha was really a witch? What does she want from me?” The man finally got up the courage to open the letter.
The letter read:
Hello Jim,
It was very nice to meet you. I’m glad that I was able to get you a pass to the front of the line at Disney World. I told you that I would also try to help you with your bigger problems. Well I talked to my daddy and he agreed that he would see what he could do to help you. I am pretty sure he can resolve your problems as my daddy is a pretty powerful man. Please respond and let me know how you are doing.

You may be thinking that I made up that story and you would be correct. The point of the story though is even though the young girl had no power, as her father was the president of the US she could get things done through him. So the question becomes, who is your father? Have you become a Born Again Christian because you accepted Jesus Christ as your savior? If so, your father is God. Well if that is true and it is, imagine the power you have as one of God’s children. All you need to do is pray to him in Jesus name.
The following are some Bible references that show that we are God’s children and that he answers our prayers.
Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Rom 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
Gal 4:5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
Eph 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
1 Jn 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
1 Jn 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
Php 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Mat 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
