What to Expect from the Historic Netanyahu–Trump Meeting in Washington — Big Stakes, Big Deal

Washington, D.C. — Sept. 28, 2025

After months of intense diplomacy, public positioning, and back‑channel maneuvering, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will sit across from President Donald Trump this Monday in what may become one of the most consequential Middle East meetings of the decade. With pressure mounting from Arab states, Turkey, and Washington itself, the world will be watching whether this encounter becomes a turning point or another stalled spectacle.

The Stakes: A Delicate Balancing Act

At its core, this isn’t just a meeting over ceasefire or hostage release. It’s a negotiation over the structure of Gaza’s future, the role of Palestinian governance, Israel’s limits, and America’s position as arbiter — all while preserving precarious domestic coalitions and regional consensus.

One of the most striking public signals: Trump has said he will “not allow Israel to annex the West Bank.” That alone hints at a more assertive U.S. posture than many expected, and suggests that Israel could face a red line even from a typically pro‑Israel executive.

We Must Pray

If we, as the body of Christ, do not pray and intercede, and if there is any attempt to divide the land of Israel, then even our beloved president could lose his position. Not because of politics — but because of covenant consequences. And that's why we we must pray now.

The Word of God is clear: “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you” (Genesis 12:3). Dividing the land that belongs to the God of Israel brings judgment — not because of men, but because of the unchanging covenant He made with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Above all, praying for Israel.
“They shall not divide the land.” — Joel 3:2

The Trump plan looks somewhat different from what one might have assumed: it consists mainly of Hamas concessions delivered upfront, and Israeli promises deferred on credit.

With all the caveats—because after all, this is the Middle East, and this is Trump—this is how the plan is described by diplomats to whom it was presented.

Trump Plan Outline

Israeli Concessions:
• No territory will be ceded between Israel and Gaza
• No assassinations of terrorists will be carried out in Qatar

Hamas Concessions:
• Release of all hostages on the first day
• Dismantling of all “offensive weapons”

For all Gazan civilians:
• The right to leave Gaza will be granted – with a guarantee that they will be able to return safely
• Gaza will be transformed into an international trade zone, with exemptions from customs duties
• An international force will monitor every Israeli withdrawal, but subject ti very long negotiations
• The Palestinian Authority will participate in the governing council – but only in the future, and only after reforms “to eliminate extremism”

The last point is particularly significant, as it suggests that the Palestinian Authority will not be involved in Gaza in the foreseeable future—if at all.

I see an immediate problem here:

Israeli Concessions:
• No territory will be ceded between Israel and Gaza
• No assassinations of terrorists will be carried out in Qatar

No territory will be ceded between Israel and Gaza

that sounds like Israel remains out of Gaza, out of the ability to go in and deal with situations and Gaza remains a semi independent region just like when George Bush Jr was President and forced Israel to give up Gaza in a Land for Peace deal that was another failure at the 2 State Solution.

By that wording it suggests that Gaza gets to keep being Gaza, and Israel remains outside the boundary of Gaza. Back to the status quo in other words. Only with international peace keepers (those bastions of security in Lebanon and the Golan Heights)

No assassinations of terrorists will be carried out in Qatar.

That means that any terrorist on the planet has a safe haven away from Israeli's ability to "reach out and touch someone" as required. That ties Israel's hands. Not good.

Then

the other stuff sounds like it depends heavily on some unspecified international force to keep the peace and keep the terms. That kind of "peacekeeping" force isn't always successful as we have seen in Lebanon, and the Golan Heights where Israel has finally had to go in and do what the "international peacekeepers" are unable to do.

The definition of stupid is to keep doing the same thing over and over again when it hasn't worked in the past.

The Gazans may finally decide to go for this deal and give up those hostages, but the terms in this agreement are very broad and depend HEAVILY on American good will towards Israel- something that works under Trump but won't under another President especially a Democrat. What if one of the politicians from Dearborn becomes president (I know, God forbid) but what if.

Because we've had Obama AND Biden in past 2 decades. They were NOT Israel's friends.

Then which "international" nations have people who will be fair to Israel. This fall the UN is proving that the USA has very few partners to protect Israel's interests. Most of the democracies of the West, with the ability to send troops are all for another crack at a 2 State Solution. I wouldn't trust my own country in this matter let alone, France, Britain, Australia etc. We've all turned on Israel. Who will protect ISRAEL'S rights in this????

There's a lot more I have to read here, and I will soon, but that strikes my eye right off the top.

Israel is expected to take on all the risks with none of the benefits.

Hopefully Trump is saying he won't allow Israel to annex the West Bank because he'll allow Israel to annex Samaria and Judea.

I hope that Bibi stands fast against any plan that doesn't meet the war time goals of Israel, mainly the return of all hostages and the surrender and disbandment of hamas.

:pray2: :pray2: :pray2:
Sadly the problem is that the "West Bank" IS Judea and Samaria!

I hope and pray with you that Bibi stands fast against these plans to divide Israel and I pray for the return of the hostages and Israel's ability to remain free to deal with her enemies quickly and permanently.

I know, I was just hoping... This is a bad deal for Israel. Israel should finish conquering Gaza, deport all of the islmamic gazans to whomever will take them, and incorporate the land back into Israel.

It seems like Trump is more interested in getting credit for stopping another war than he is for a solution that is actually good that will prevent any more wars against Israel from that speck of land. When land has been traded for peace and that doesn't work out, the land should be taken back.

:pray:ing as well that :israel:Israel chooses to not divide the land either, because that would not be a smart move. Genesis 12:3.

Western leaders have purposefully brought in people from other nations into their own who have been doing a lot of raping, assaulting, murdering, etc. and in a lot of cases have even been protected from prosecution. It's being done on purpose to destabilize societies.

In the USA it seems everyday you read of a new islamist elected to a mayoral or other position of leadership. We're trending in a direction that is going to result in a lot of pain and conflict.
