My true friend, you are trying to attain to mental affirmation of the reality of God, he not found mentally he is found by faith.

Just as John 3:15-17 says.

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

There is no doubt that I am your friend, as a friend I leave you with this. The most beautiful and glorious angel, now called Satan, led a rebellion against God, he knows his time is short before he is cast into the lake of fire. All he can do now is hurt God, not God directly, but through that which God loves.
You are one that he loves, If he can interject his thoughts and his angst (anger) towards God, then he can keep you in darkness and always away from the lover of your soul.

Evidence that Demands a Verdict: Life-Changing Truth for a Skeptical World by Josh and Sean McDowell. The most recent edition is 2017.
Excellent book that provides many different kinds of evidence. Two volumes in one. Mostly academic and very thorough, but many of the articles/chapters are pretty short, so easy to pick and choose and read what's of interest, or reference evidence for specific questions/objections. This book is on my list of books to take with me if I can only take one small box of books in case of evacuation.

The Case for Christ: A Journalist's Personal Investigation of the Evidence for Jesus by Lee Strobel. I think the most recent edition is 2016 (expanded and revised). Good evidence and not written in as academic a style as the other book There are some other books by this same author that may also be of interest: The Case for a Creator and Is God Real?

You know the person, so you can pick whichever you think would be best. Hopefully, you can find whichever book at a library or used book store or a cheap copy on Amazon, special at Christianbook, etc.

It's definitely a spiritual issue and not logical. I'll pray for her to see the Truth too. It's never really about the evidence. My husband used to say he wanted evidence and then would get upset when I would bring it up. Now as a believer he can see that he just wasn't ready. This reminds me of the verses in Luke 16:29-31-

"29Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

30;And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

31And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead."

Atheists/ism looking for anything is silly. They are determined to "look", so they aren't really looking at anything. They are reacting. Everything they do is a chemical reaction. There is no "them". Only the automaton-the machine exists that is prewired to do what it does. It doesn't think murder is bad, it simply is wired to react as if it were. The other wired being thinks murder is good and that being can't help but to react that way, either. It's the most preposterous set of ideas that has ever had the gall to take a dump on humanity.

Atheism has a brutal and delicious cosmic joke baked into its cake and it's one that's inescapable. Now, this is a hypothetical so don't scratch me to death. But if their worldview is actually correct, they'll never even have the grace to know it. Ever. It's metaphysically impossible. It's the ultimate cruelty.

Every advance against entropy, every voice screamed into the void, everything they've ever taught their children, the children themselves, their vows of love and promise, their cries of injustice, the excitement they feel upon a new groundbreaking discovery, every philosophical note, every laboratory result, every jot, every tittle will be ruined, wrecked, and burned to less than nothing in the grand crescendo of the heat death of the universe and not one entity or witness will be around to care one bit when it's all said and done.

Atheism is fringe dishonor and travesty of everything that has every lived and it's a cowardice is so brutal and so self-refuting, it confounds every inner working we have both experientially and scientifically. It has no explanatory power. It explains nothing about the physical world we actually find ourselves in and it has no prescriptions, no descriptions, and no answers. It's the ultimate pile of nothing slop. You can't even strain an "ought" out of the system if you keep honest inside the system. Despite how smart they think they are; they have the intellectual rigor of one thousand-year-old dead milk, especially if they hold to determinism, which they have to if they are consistent. Determinism is nothing but a circle. You'd sooner devour your own tail.

I just read an excellent book that goes through all of the "intellectual giants" of Western Culture and how they were really fools and useful idiots for Satan. Sadly, the most logical conclusion of Atheism is suicide.

In the excellent documentary The Ark and the Darkness, they show proof that the Bible is correct in regards to the history of the Earth, proof so overwhelming that the atheistic scientists have to agree. But because it's in the Bible, these scientists have created another (to them plausible) theory why things are as they are. And where they cannot develop a theory, they just try to squelch any knowledge.

Just one example-- soft tissue found in dinosaur bones. It's impossible, if the bones are indeed millions of years old. And the reputable scientist in California who first explored this soft tissue was immediately fired from his job after he presented a scientific paper on the truth. As they said in the documentary, these secular scientists are willfully blind. They have chosen blindness over sight, darkness over light.

So this just proves that everything that's going on in the world really comes down to a spiritual battle. And sadly, against their own best interests, many people are choosing anything other than the Bible. It is as if a person chooses to eat out of garbage cans rather than eat the good food prepared for them, because they don't like the source of the good food. So they eat garbage. Garbage that will eventually kill them.

It's my opinion that there are really no atheist's. I know they say they are, but I think they are lying to themselves and they know it. For Scripture is clear, that all 'know'. (Rom. 1:19-20)

It's not that they believe God doesn't exist. It's that they know God exists and they hate Him. They want nothing to do with Him. In the story of the rich man and Lazarus, which I believe is a true story and not a parable, the rich man is in hades suffering and in torment. And he speaks to Abraham who dwelt in the paradise section of Hades. And the rich man apparently believes there is access between the two sections for he asked for water from Lazarus. Yet if he believed there was access, why doesn't he try to move to the other side? Because, though he is suffering in the torment section, he doesn't want to be where the people of God are. Where God's presence is. (Luke 16:19-31)

Also, (Rev. 6:15-17). The people on earth suffering the judgements from God and Christ, know they are from God and Christ. (6:16-17) Yet knowing that God and Christ exist and these judgements are from them, doesn't change their attitude towards God. Instead they attempt to hide from Him. Begging the mountains to fall upon them to hide them. (6:16) Instead of repenting and seeking salvation from God they hide.

Also, Cain. (Gen. 4:6-15) Cain had lengthy verbal conversations with God. He never doubted God's existence. But that didn't change his attitude concerning God. He wanted nothing to do with God.

This tells me that the people who God sends to hell so deserve to be there, that even in hell, they want nothing to do with God. They don't want to be in hell, but neither do they want to be with God.
