US to consider Ukraine missile request as Russia gets Iran help

Secretary of State Antony Blinken signaled the U.S. would hold talks on Ukraine’s use of Western long-range weapons against Russia, after confirming Moscow had received shipments of ballistic missiles from Iran.

“We’re going to look and to listen” to Ukraine’s request to lift restrictions on its use of long-range missiles, Blinken said Tuesday at a press conference with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy in London, signaling the U.S. is open to altering its position.

The two diplomats will travel to Kyiv on Wednesday, before UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer meets U.S. President Joe Biden in Washington on Friday, when Blinken said the missile issue will also be discussed.

Russia Calls Iran ‘Our Important Partner’ Amid Reports of Missile Transfer
Russia on Monday called Iran “our important partner” while failing to explicitly deny reports that it received short-range ballistic missiles from Tehran to use in its war against Ukraine.

The comments were the latest indication of increased coordination between Moscow and Tehran, a burgeoning partnership that has alarmed Western countries including the US.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Monday said of the reports that “this kind of information is not true every time.” However, he quickly touted Russia’s relationship with Iran and said the relationship would continue to grow.

“Iran is our important partner,” he told reporters. “We are developing our trade and economic relations. We are developing our cooperation and dialogue in all possible areas, including the most sensitive ones, and will continue to do so in the interests of the peoples of our two countries.”

Zelensky Harshly Criticizes the US and UK for Not Authorizing Long-Range Strikes Inside Russia, Complains That They Won’t Shoot Down Russian Missiles Over Western Ukraine

Despite the fact that they have given Ukraine hundreds of billions of dollars in military and civilian aid – and much of this aid was stolen by corrupt officials – American and British officials have to be continually lectured by President Volodymyr Zelensky on a regular basis.

Following yesterday’s (13) meeting between UK’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer and feeble US President Joe Biden, there was no agreement on a deal to give Ukraine authorization to shoot long-range missiles deep into Russian territory.

Starmer and Biden held talks to discuss strategy on how to bring the war in Ukraine to an end, including whether to hand over Storm Shadow missiles to Zelensky.

“Disappointingly for both parties, John Kirby, a spokesman for the US national security council, announced afterwards that there would be ‘no change to our policy’ on letting Ukraine use long-range missiles.”
