US Capitol Struck by Lightning on NYE.....

Donald Trump supporters on social media speculated over whether a divine message was being sent after lightning strikes reportedly hit the U.S. Capitol Building and Washington Monument in Washington D.C., and the One World Trade Center and Empire State Building in New York City, on New Year's Eve.

Footage and images shared online purportedly showed all four buildings being struck as revelers gathered across the United States to see in the New Year, with thousands gathering in New York's Times Square for the iconic ball drop despite heavy rain being forecast.

The speculation takes place against the backdrop of a febrile political mood in the United States, with President-elect Donald Trump due to be inaugurated for the second time on January 20 in Washington D.C.

Yeah id like to know where in the bible where it says that lightning is a warning from God before judgement as someone tries to say this in relation to this happening.

It is a big coincidence of this happening but for the person to sensationalise it as a warning from God makes me go hmmmmm a bit

The journalist who wrote the article was quoting a MAGA supporter who posted video of the lightening strike on the Capitol on X formerly Twitter, and it was the MAGA supporter that said it was a "message from God".
I think this falls right in with the claims that it was God that stopped the bullet from killing Trump when the assassination attempt happened.
I do believe God can use nature to warn of judgement coming but I don't think God has a political preference that He would be sending repeated messages to favor Trump. That's just my opinion.

I don't know if the Bible says anything, anywhere, about lightning being a warning or not.

However, I do believe God does use natural phenomena to warn, chastise, judge, reward, etc.

FWIW, it will be interesting to ask Noah and his family whether there was thunder and lightning before and during The Flood
and how big the waves, sharks, dinosaurs, etc. were


A modern example of God using natural phenomena to warn and/or judge was the tornado that hit the church steeple in downtown Minneapolis at the exact moment the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) was voting to ordain non-celibate homosexuals. Note: ELCA has ordained women since its founding, and the denominations that merged to form it, had been ordaining women since before then. They are they largest and most liberal Lutheran denomination in the U.S.

"On a day when no severe weather was predicted or expected...a tornado forms, baffling the weather experts—most saying they’ve never seen anything like it. It happens right in the city. The city: Minneapolis.
The tornado happens on a Wednesday...during the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America's national convention in the Minneapolis Convention Center. The convention is using Central Lutheran across the street as its church. The church has set up tents around it’s building for this purpose."
According to the ELCA’s printed convention schedule, at 2 PM on Wednesday, August 19, the 5th session of the convention was to begin. The main item of the session: “Consideration: Proposed Social Statement on Human Sexuality.” The issue is whether practicing homosexuality is a behavior that should disqualify a person from the pastoral ministry.
The eyewitness of the damage continues:
This curious tornado touches down just south of downtown and follows 35W straight towards the city center. It crosses I94. It is now downtown.
The time: 2PM.
The first buildings on the downtown side of I94 are the Minneapolis Convention Center and Central Lutheran. The tornado severely damages the convention center roof, shreds the tents, breaks off the steeple of Central Lutheran, splits what’s left of the steeple in two...and then lifts."
