US blocks UN from recognizing Palestinian state

On Thursday, the United States exercised its veto power to block a Security Council resolution seeking to grant full member status to the Palestinian Authority within the United Nations.

The resolution garnered support from 12 countries including Slovenia, Sierra Leone, Russia, South Korea, Mozambique, Malta, Japan, Guyana, France, Ecuador, China, and Algeria.

Two countries, Britain and Switzerland, abstained from voting.

Following the veto, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz denounced the proposal, stating, “The attempt to recognize a Palestinian state, especially in the wake of recent atrocities perpetrated by Hamas terrorists, is tantamount to rewarding terrorism.”

The United States on Thursday moved to block a Security Council resolution that sought to recommend the recognition of “Palestine” as a full UN member state.

The resolution, which asserted that “Palestine fulfills membership criteria” and needed nine favorable votes and no vetos to succeed, garnered alarming support with 12 approvals from Russia, China, France, Japan, South Korea, and Algeria—the nation that proposed the resolution.

Israeli envoy Gilad Erdan thanked the United States for “thwarting the unilateral move to impose a Palestinian terrorist state,” which he underscored was a stand for “truth and morality in the face of hypocrisy and politics.”

Erdan further highlighted the absurdity of calling Palestinians and the PA “peace-loving” while they provide payments to terrorists for the slaughter of Israelis.

“Most of you decided to reward Palestinian terror with [a] Palestinian State,” he stressed. “I pray that the day will come when you understand the magnitude of the mistake you are making here. I pray that you will understand before it is too late.”

The UN is filled with idiot ragers that hate God, hate Israel, hate the USA, and hate anything good and right. The only reason this got defeated is b/c of the USA. There is not other reason. Not truth. Not logic. Not fact. Not goodness. Not right thinking. Not commonsense. Not outrage. Nothing else! How pitiful is that?

I'm pretty sure the US did that because Israel guaranteed they wouldn't go into Iran with a flat out full frontal attack the day after the UN vote. Let's hope that the US follows thru on arms sales by delivering what Israel already paid for instead of holding it up like they did with Gaza. Israel did as promised, now it's up to the US State Dept to quit holding back shipments needed for Israel's safety.
