The United Nations has passed a Kyiv-drafted resolution condemning Vladimir Putin’s illegal invasion of Ukraine despite the US voting against it and urging other countries to do the same.
The resolution passed with 93 votes in favour, with the US and Russia being two of 18 countries voting against it. China abstained alongside 64 other countries.
The US proposed its own motion calling for an end to the three-year-long war which did not condemn Russia as the aggressor in the conflict.
