Ukraine launches highly anticipated counteroffensive against Russia with Western arms

From FoxNews:

Ukraine on Thursday launched its highly anticipated counteroffensive against occupying Russian forces, sources familiar confirmed to Fox News.

Ukrainian fighters are making a large push to expel Russian invaders in the city of Zaporizhzhia, in the country's southeast. Additionally, there are ongoing battles north of the eastern city of Bakhmut, where Ukrainian forces have retaken approximately 1.4 km of territory.

"In the direction of Bakhmut, our troops switched from defense to offensive," Ukranian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar said in a post on Telegram. "Over the past day, we have advanced from 200 to 1,100 meters in various sections of the Bakhmut direction."

God is turning Gog back . . .

Waiting for Russia/USSR to invade the US and Canada (unwalled villages) and God hitting both US/Caanda and Russia/USSR with fire from the heavens.

Yeah, I think this whole thing in Ukraine (and wherever it ends up spreading) is Gog-Magog, and Ezekiel 38-39 are being fulfilled in front of our very eyes.

Ukraine Claims to Have Shot Down Two Valuable Russian Command and Control Aircraft

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) – The Ukrainian air force shot down a Russian Beriev A-50 early warning and control plane and an Il-22 command center aircraft in a significant blow for the Kremlin´s forces, Ukraine´s military chief claimed Monday.

The planes are key tools in helping orchestrate Russian battlefield movements in Ukraine. Shooting them down would be a landmark feat for Ukraine in the almost two-year war, as fighting along the front line is largely bogged down in trench and artillery warfare.

Gen. Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian armed forces, did not say how the aircraft were brought down, but Ukraine has received sophisticated air defense systems from its Western allies.

Those are two high value targets taken out if true. The USA provides a dual fighter cap during war for its high value airborne assets like the AWACS and the aircraft that I flew on.

It takes time to create/outfit a new command and control aircraft and to train new crews. It's not something that can just be replaced in a quick fashion.

Wonder if the crews bailed and were/will be captured . . .

another good article in our news today about the Ukraine war and possible war scenarios across Europe:

Leaked report reveals Germany’s preparations for terrifying war

Leaked military documents show a country is fearful of war spilling across Europe - and it has already sent troops to Poland.

ANALYSIS
Germany’s worried. A leaked secret military report reveals it is exploring the idea of Russia being so emboldened by the United States’ abandonment of Ukraine that it also invades Poland. And it’s not alone.

German newspaper Bild has obtained a copy of Alliance Defense 2025 – an “exercise scenario” produced by Germany’s Ministry of Defence detailing a potential massive Russian assault on Europe.

Well I'm glad Germany and Poland are making contingency plans because NATO isn't going to be there under Biden to help if they need it. If Trump wins, well the plans may not be needed. If something happens to prevent Trump, then plans might help Putin think twice. I think the Baltics- Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania have reason to fear. But the fact that they did join NATO as did Poland is somewhat of a deterrent.

Putin and his cronies in power in Russia recently made a nasty threat towards Uzbekistan where a number of the recent wave of Russian emigres landed after they left during the early days of the Ukrainian invasion. The "stans" and Georgia, Armenia and the other southern former Russian territories that border Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran are feeling nervous.

Where I see an interesting divide is where the eastern and western divides of the ancient Roman Empire split up long before Constantinople fell to the Muslim hordes.

It shows up in the maps in that article.

If as Daniel said the prince to come is from the people who destroyed the Temple then the ancient Roman Empire and it's fragments today matter more than ever from a prophetic point of view.

Turkey was the heart of the Eastern side of the Roman Empire, while Rome was the heart of the Western side. Both fragmented into religious powers split along the Eastern Orthodox versus Western Christianity (Catholic/Protestants) divide. Some like Greece stayed on the Eastern Orthodox side, while others like Turkey and the Stans and places like Bosnia and Herzogovina are significantly Muslim even though they are descendants of the original Roman Empire on the East.

Germany in WW2 was attempting to put the old Roman Empire back together under their 3rd Reich, making reference to the old "Holy" Roman Empire.

Their desire to do so was obviously something Satan was trying to do even while energizing German leaders to attack the Jews. By God's grace the Jews survived and Israel was founded again.

But this time Russia is being "inspired" to retake their old territories under a Tsar of sorts. Remember that the name Tsar comes from Caesar. And the ancient Caesars ruling from Constantinople fled NORTH to Russia where they intermarried with the Russian royal families and formed the Tsars. Just like the Germans had a history with the old "Holy" Roman Empire.

And not too surprisingly, Russia has picked back up with it's old Antisemitism.

Russia, Iran and China are part of the current Houthi crisis in the Red Sea. The Houthis are NOT firing on Chinese, Russian or Iranian vessels. Just the Western shipping.

Whether it's in the Ukraine, or the Red Sea this is an ancient divide. East and West Roman Empire descendants and Israel in the crosshairs. Shaping up for an interesting year.

And I still think anything that has the western side of Europe putting together their own army or defence plans has echoes of the Tribulation in it.

I wonder what God will allow out of this and how fast this may escalate
