Three United States service members were killed Saturday in an Iranian drone attack in Jordan near the border with Syria. Two dozen others were seriously injured.

"Today, America’s heart is heavy. Last night, three U.S. service members were killed—and many wounded—during an unmanned aerial drone attack on our forces stationed in northeast Jordan near the Syria border. While we are still gathering the facts of this attack, we know it was carried out by radical Iran-backed militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq," President Biden released in a statement Sunday morning.

"Jill and I join the families and friends of our fallen—and Americans across the country—in grieving the loss of these warriors in this despicable and wholly unjust attack. These service members embodied the very best of our nation: Unwavering in their bravery. Unflinching in their duty. Unbending in their commitment to our country— risking their own safety for the safety of their fellow Americans, and our allies and partners with whom we stand in the fight against terrorism. It is a fight we will not cease," Biden continued. "The three American service members we lost were patriots in the highest sense. And their ultimate sacrifice will never be forgotten by our nation. Together, we will keep the sacred obligation we bear to their families. We will strive to be worthy of their honor and valor. We will carry on their commitment to fight terrorism. And have no doubt -- we will hold all those responsible to account at a time and in a manner our choosing."

The current anti-American administration will probably send Iran more money...

COTTON: BIDEN’S APPEASEMENT OF IRAN ALLOWED U.S. DEATHS, DEVASTATING RETALIATION NECESSARY

Biden’s Appeasement of Iran Allowed U.S. Deaths, Devastating Retaliation Necessary
Washington, D.C.
— Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today released the following statement after an attack in Jordan by Iran-backed militants killed three U.S. service members and injured 25:

“Joe Biden emboldened Iran for years by tolerating attacks on our troops, bribing the ayatollahs with billions of dollars, and appeasing them to no end. He left our troops as sitting ducks and now three are dead and dozens wounded, sadly as I’ve predicted would happen for months. The only answer to these attacks must be devastating military retaliation against Iran’s terrorist forces, both in Iran and across the Middle East. Anything less will confirm Joe Biden as a coward unworthy of being commander-in-chief.

“On behalf of Arkansans, I extend my deepest condolence to the families of our brave fallen warriors. May God comfort them as He welcomes their loved ones into His embrace. And may God quickly and completely heal their wounded comrades.”

After Sunday's drone attack on an American military outpost in the Middle East killed three U.S. service members and left dozens more injured, a top Biden administration official said the U.S. "absolutely" will do what's necessary for its defense. But he also emphasized that staving off wider regional conflict is a priority.

"We are not interested in a broader conflict in the region, we're not looking for another war, but we absolutely will do what we have to do to protect ourselves," John Kirby, a spokesperson for the National Security Council at the White House, said in an interview Monday on "CBS Mornings."
