You know, watching for that kind of thing is often on my mind at church and I am always thinking about who is around me and the best way to jump under the pew and especially if any little ones are around me or elderly....well I'm almost 80 lol but anyway how to best help hide them and maybe take the shooter down if I possibly can.

Time to bring back the old church office of Janitor . . .

I always sit in the far back and keep track of what's going on, especially people in entering the Narthex after service has started, and coming in, leaving, and returning to/from the Sanctuary. There's a moral responsibility that attaches to certain training, experience, and gifts, with which God has blessed me. Especially since I'm no longer responsible for elderly parent(s). Having anyone behind me is also a problem for me, so need to sit there, anyway.

Both churches do things differently, but each does what has been decided as being best for the congregation.
