The name does seem to signal a change of attitude from a defensive posture to an aggressive one. War is coming whether we are ready or not. It started even before 911.
I get the concept that Reagan had- walk softly and carry a big stick. You arm yourself to the teeth, and nobody bothers you.
Reagan ended the USSR for all intents and purposes, and it's taken decades for Russia to recover, and that is with far less of her territory that she held before Reagan came to power. Reagan DID fight and end the Cold war. The Russia that now exists is not the same at all.
Yet Reagan didn't need to change the name.
There is way more going on here than just America feeling like they haven't won a war since WW2. It's a feeling of being out of control, speeding down the highway towards a collision. It's decades of bad management from several Presidents on both sides of the aisle that led up to this.
So what war is Trump preparing for??? And where is this sense of impending war coming from?
I don't think Trump plans on entering the Ukrainian Russian war. He seems to think that Russia will win it, take what they want and settle down. He's no fan of Zelensky. And the Bible seems to point that Gog is in charge of Magog when Ezek 38 happens. Russia will win, and I think Trump will turn his attention away from Russia to allow them to win. Something happens to ensure Russia regains Magog - which includes Ukraine.
I think it's a bit premature to invade Greenland, or Canada, or Panama. In spite of repeated threats I don't think they are top of his agenda.
I think Trump wants to declare war on Venezuela. To take out the cartels and their leader Maduro. He is sending ships into the region, then blowing up that boat. Actions speak louder than words. I'm just guessing here.
Maduro is close to the SCO, particularly China. And his drugs end up sold in American streets.
Putin had a similar reason to invade Ukraine. A criminal element running the country, working with the Bidens. Putin didn't like that or the idea of NATO moving too close. International law says that Putin's invasion was wrong.
International law doesn't mean diddly squat any more, so if Trump invades some country for similar reasons, who is going to stop him?
International law is almost gone. It's toothless.
It relied on a Judeo Christian world view that member countries held to.
That Judeo Christian world view has been under attack since the Muslim's declared war on the West at 911. Actually long before 911.
George Bush decided in response to 911 that Islam was a peaceful religion that could be trained to love democracy. That same delusion led Bush to force the Jews out of Gaza, and force Israel to give it up in yet another 2 State Solution.
Some years later Phil Haney wrote a book "See Something, Say Nothing" before he was murdered. It outlined how the US govt became the protector of Muslim invaders such as Ilhan Omar and Huma Abedin- Hilary Clinton's assistant and daughter of founding members of the Muslim Brotherhood.
The West was silenced, and the long war of Islam against the Christian west got ugly.
The Obama/Clinton/Biden years that followed Bush are over and Trump is trying to turn things around. But the more he does, the quicker we seem to be heading towards the Tribulation.
The end game - the Rapture, followed by the Tribulation is approaching.
The world is getting more twitchy, more trigger happy, alliances that once held firm are changing - Trump is definitely part of that change.
It's like the Balkans before WW1 broke out.
All I see is the constant movement towards 2 camps- the Euro western NATO alliance that I think will become the future Rome 2.0 and the eastern SCO that I think will be the core of the Gog Magog invasion - with different purposes for each. Just like the Balkans in WW1- everyone is taking sides. Lining up.
Since China has already committed to helping Venezuela (whether they do or not is another question entirely) this would involve them to some degree. I doubt they want open war against the States, but a proxy war where they supply drones or other weapons might be something they'd like. Could that be their downfall? Perhaps. I don't know.
Things I know from reading the Bible:
Something happens to take China out of the Gog Magog group at some point before Ezek 38.
Something happens to take the USA out of the picture as a major power opposing the Russian coalition of Ezek 38. (I still think it's the rapture)
Something happens to ensure that Israel is living peacefully, securely without walls, bars or gates by the time of Ezek 38.
Something happens to make sure Russia wins back her ancient territory of Magog (Ukraine is part of that) before they invade Israel at the time of Ezek 38
Something happens to pull ancient Rome back together in time for the Tribulation. Russia seems to be the threat that finally convinced the EU to "RE-Arm Europe".
It's not surprising if the world is preparing for wars and rumours of wars. And the name on the door changes from Dept of Defence to Dept of War.
