“Our opponents are not afraid that our America First policies will fail, they’re terrified that our strategy will succeed and we’re going to get bigger and stronger and better as a party, and that’s what’s happening — and that is what’s happening,” Trump said. “It’s going to be something, and I’m actually looking forward to the mid-terms. We’re going to prove that all of their treasonous years of betrayal will not be forgotten — cause it’s treason, what they did is treason. When they allowed millions of people to pour in through open borders — from all over the world they came, to me that’s treason. What they’ve done to our country is unthinkable.”

As a cessationist, I believe that providence is likely a key way in which God may help inform His creation in our day. Historically, providence would be how nations come against one another. Who's on top. Who loses. These socio-political moves historically would be considered providential developments along the way. In some ways, perhaps the book of Daniel would even attest to this and tip the hat to this. In Daniel 5 prophecies are given.
Four Great kingdoms (2)
Messiah timing (9)
Ram & Goat (9)
Abomination of desolation (9)
Four animal kingdoms (7)
Three of the 5 prophies have to do with nations specific. A very prolific focus on nations. Likely to help us understand that under that over all those nations, Christ's will be the one to last. Amen. But we can see very clearly how nations play a role in providence. And this is seen throughout the Old Testament as well. True providence will never be inconsistent with scripture. Because it is the economy of history as God has so proclaimed.
America is not pointed out in scripture that we know of. I believe chapter 7 does. But regardless, as to end time specifics there are plenty of opinions on how that goes. But I would suggest that the uniqueness of how America has grooved in our day, that it certainly highlights "something." The irony in a way is that most of evangelicalism would be looking for America to get out of the way so we can see prophecy more clearly unfold. That seems to be the trend. However, quite the opposite seems to be taking shape. At least for the short term.
And although most evangelical posturing would believe America has to collapse or tank or be removed to some degree for Ez 38 to happen, I believe this to be a sort of eisegetical approach to scripture (believing too much about our own views in modernity and allowing them to lead in the interpretation of scripture). Conversely, we seem to be alive at a time America may be going against the evangelical grain. America would seem not be behave and stay in her eisegetically primed lane. Rather than doing gymnastics to make sense of that, I believe the most obvious plain in our faces way to understand the current role of America is that its strength be for Israel's peace and safety Ez 38 moment.
So when i see a position like this from Trump, I do not permit myself to be distracted with the trappings of what i would consider to be somewhat gnostic insight pertaining to MAGA. Because, to me, it simply means MIGA (Make Israel Great Again). A term i have never heard in evangelicalism. Instead, its seems that much of evangelicalism gets distracted by MAGA and gets into contortion prophetic mode. So just wanted to say that if things pan out according to Trump's midterm intensions, please remember MIGA. I'm sure all along the way we will have 1001 reasons to see false this and false that. Meanwhile the little red caboose that could just chugs along. To me, providentially speaking...this is exactly where things are likely going. My 2 cents along the way. Blessings.
