Trump plans 'National Jubilee of Prayer' event in May as part of America 250

Well-known
President Donald Trump announced Thursday that he plans to hold a national day of prayer on the National Mall in May, which is intended to "rededicate America as one nation under God," as part of the year-long America 250 birthday celebration.

Trump made the announcement during an appearance at the National Prayer Breakfast, where he also touted his administration's efforts to bring religion back to public life, while still abiding by the Constitution.

The president said the prayer event will take place on May 17, and extended the invitation to gather for the event to all Americans.

"We're going to rededicate America as one nation under God," Trump said. "Some major politicians refuse to say the word God. They don’t want to say it. I say it. There are many signs that religion is coming back. It's coming back so strong. You know, your churches are filling up. You didn't have that two years ago."

That’s right about Pentecost. Could be interesting timing......

On the (Protestant) liturgical calendar, May 17, 2026 is the Seventh Sunday of Easter, so the Sunday before Pentecost (May 24, 2026), which is 50 days after Resurrection Sunday (April 5, 2026).
May 17, 2026 is also 3 days after Ascension Day, which is May 14th, 2026. Ascension Day is 40 days after Resurrection Sunday.

On the Orthodox calendar, May 17, 2026 is 4 days before Ascension Day (May 21, 2026) and 14 days before Pentecost (May 31, 2026).

May 17th on the Jewish Calendar is 1 Sivan 5786 (Rosh Codesh Sivan).
Sivan is the 3rd month of the Biblical Hebrew year. Rosh Chodesh (aka Rosh Hodesh), is a minor holiday on the first day of every month in the Hebrew calendar.

Secular days of the year on May 17, 2026. Some of them celebrate sin :puke:

:thankyou: GOD!!! :thankyou:
  in Jesus' Name :amen: :amen:

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Matthew 6:9-13, KJV

16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
James 5:16, KJV

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
John 3:16-21, KJV

5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
1 John 1:5-10, KJV

1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
2 Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
3 When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.
4 For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.
5 I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
Psalm 32:1-5, KJV

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Ephesians 6:10-13, KJV

14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14, KJV
