Trump Gives New Orders to U.S. Military on Panama Canal Takeover

The Trump administration has asked the U.S. military to draw up options for retaking the Panama Canal.

President Trump has been pushing for retaking the canal since December, and repeated his desire in a joint address to Congress last week, without any elaboration. The rest of the Trump administration hasn’t attempted to explain what he means, either.

The military is drawing up options, according to NBC News, that range from a closer partnership with the Panamanian military to soldiers seizing the Panama Canal by force, according to unnamed officials. The use of force depends on how much Panama’s military is willing to work with the United States, the officials told NBC News.

The commander of U.S. Southern Command, Admiral Alvin Holsey, presented the different strategies to Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth earlier this week. The plan to use military force against Panama will only be considered if posting additional U.S. military personnel does not accomplish Trump’s goal of “reclaiming” the canal, the officials said.

I understand why, but he might bog down in too many actions at once. That was a fatal flaw with Hitler. Too many fronts, too few friends.

Panama.

Taiwan/South Korea/Japan vs China - China won't attack till the US is distracted. But they have been patrolling in Australian waters, testing the limits, testing for weaknesses between allies.

Gaza/Iran in the ME as things heat up there.

Greenland- they voted for independence- or so it seems. With a tiny population of native Greenlanders (46,000), a number of US army people at the US base there, and Russian subs patrolling the area not to mention China's interest in Greenland that could go hot very fast.

He has made it very clear he will take Greenland one way or another, and their vote of independence makes that a lot easier to accomplish without any messy Danish interference even if Denmark was so inclined.

That will definitely annoy Europe even further- galvanizing them to create and fund their own army.

Trade wars with all his allies. He has isolated America from support- and America can go it alone, but it might be safer with allies.

Amazing how this is pushing Rome 2.0 into action.

Until Trump formally backs out of NATO, he's still got obligations there, and Russia isn't worried about his tariffs or sanctions- BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperative Organization are Putin's alternatives and even though his economy is tanking, ever since Trump talked with Putin, it's breathed new life into Putin's efforts to get things done while Trump is annoyed with Zelensky.


In fact Trump has done more to bring the Eastern and Western legs of the old Roman Empire back to life in the 6 or 7 weeks he's been in power than anyone in the past 1500 years.

All we need is the Rapture! The whole planet could go up in a powder keg explosion!

I think what is shaking me up is how FAST this is all coming together since Jan 20th. It is about 7 weeks and I see MORE happening in that 7 weeks towards end time scenarios coming together than I've EVER seen in my life!

I am awestruck! A little horrified, but awestruck.

I remembered Reagan and the Panama situation, then HW Bush Sr who invaded Panama, got rid of Noriega and looked it up because it was ringing bells. I remembered the newscasts of that time having kittens because it was an invasion- yet Reagan had terrible misgivings about Carter giving the canal to Panama, and like always Reagan was right. But Reagan couldn't deal with it, so it fell to Bush Sr who got it taken care of for that generation.

New generation, same lessons. Reagan was usually right, Carter was usually wrong. FF to today it's Trump vs Biden/Obama- fixing what they didn't bother themselves to do on behalf of the American people they swore to protect.

But today it's not the late 80s or whatever that was, when everyone wondered if it was part of the 80's maybe the Rapture is now feel.

Today the Rapture feels right around the next corner, but the speed of events, and the danger across the globe are looking more like the "peace and safety, then sudden destruction"
