Trump Admin Left EU on Read Only — And It Couldn’t Be Better

TCC

Well-known
any are familiar with the famous remark by late former US Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Henry Kissinger: ‘Who do I call if I want to talk with Europe?’ Kissinger’s comment referred to the power struggle within the European Union between its institutions, primarily the European Commission and the European Council, over which body should lead foreign relations. However, as the first days of Donald Trump’s second presidency demonstrate, Kissinger’s question does not seem to concern the new administration. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has made dozens of calls over the past week—none of them with European Union leaders.

Rubio’s early diplomatic engagements hint at the priorities of the new administration’s foreign policy and the regions it plans to prioritize. Unsurprisingly, these are the Indo–Pacific region and the Middle East. Rubio’s first major engagement was hosting a Quad meeting—a US-led defence alliance that includes Australia, Japan, and India—in Washington, DC. This was followed by calls with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his counterparts in Indonesia and South Korea, and leaders from the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Rubio Focuses on Member States, Not EU

It wasn’t until Rubio’s 15th call on 23 January that a European country entered the conversation: Poland, a traditionally strong US ally, particularly on security matters. Warsaw also currently holds the Presidency of the European Council. However, according to the State Department’s press release, no EU-related topics were discussed during Rubio’s call with Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski.

Making Nationalism Great Again

@TCC-- Brother, I like the thread, but I have absolutely no idea what you're trying to say in the title. If you explain it to me I can change it.
Hi Pastor Adrian. I was just posting the title of the article. The sense I can make is that it means this: You know if you are working with PDF docs or even Word Docs that are "read only?" You cannot make changes to those documents. All we can do is read those. So I believe the article is highlighting that the Trump admin has the EU on read only status. They can see what the Trump admin is doing. But the Trump admin will not engage them with providing them ana ability to weigh-in and make document changes. The EU can only know what is going on...but not have authority in it to engage in foreign affairs with America. Is that not like totally awesome? lol. Wow. Trump gets in the door and another way of looking at this is -- instead of talking with EU leaders giving them legetimacy....trump just gives them "the hand." And palm face out blocking those getting "the hand" a symbol that they either talk to the hand or nobody. So read only status entitles the EU to talk to Trump's proverbial hand in their face. I love it.

Its like the Trump dinasty overnight made the EU irrelevant...lol. "It couldn't be better" I think is the attitude of the onlooking sober minded world that that rightly views globalist imperialism as a dying breed. Imagine. I never thought the underbelly muscle of nationalism would be allow to come out and play again. Because mother earth empriliams deemed him messy, uncooth, and too unsophisticated to play with. "We are not amused." They said. Now they are saying, "Can you paleeeeese amuse us--i.e. entertain and audience with us." But instead get the Trump admin hand. Does that make sense though? It seems to be a newer realized publication...so their article titles might need some work. But the article itself seems to express the awesome sentiment we are witnesses today. Blessings.
