Trump’s Day One: A look at his opening moves in the White House

President-elect Donald Trump made a multitude of “day one” promises throughout the campaign to begin work on an array of issues, setting himself up for an extremely busy first day back in office.

Many of his promises involve reinstating past Executive Orders that the Biden administration rescinded, and some entail advancing initiatives such as energy production. Others involve planning for a year-long anniversary celebration for the nation’s 250th anniversary.

Mass deportations

A signature issue for Trump, the removal of illegal immigrants from the U.S. is expected to take priority. U.S. Customs and Border Protection has reported more than 10 million immigrant encounters under the Biden administration. Media outlets regularly cited an 11 million illegal immigrant figure prior to Trump’s first term and that the current number of illegal immigrants in the U.S. may exceed 20 million.

Transgender issues/Critical Race Theory

“On day one, I will sign an Executive Order banning schools from promoting critical race theory or transgender insanity,” he promised in October at a North Carolina event. “I will take historic action to defeat the toxic poison of gender ideology and reaffirm that God created two genders, male and female. I will keep men out of women's sports. I will sign a law banning child sexual mutilation in all 50 states.”

Can he pardon himself?

Is he likely to pardon President Biden, at least as an act of compassion due to dementia and advanced age?
He can pardon himself on the federal cases, but not on state cases, such as the NY case where he is pending sentencing from his convictions. However, this case could be thrown out pending his appeal, and due to his being elected President.

Hopefully Biden says "Y'got her, son.", especially after he got long knifed and turned into a circus monkey by his "allies". Which, to be fair, didn't take a lot of effort. I'm serious, it would have been epic if Joe would have voted for Trump and declared his ballot publicly on his way out of this space forever. What a way to go out. I love a good ending.

If he bothered to vote, I suspect he and his wife did vote for Trump.
I would not be shocked. Several times during the Harris campaign, Biden made statements countering recent Harris statements. He also gave a few statements to the press corps at the same time Harris was making a speech. Jill Biden wore all red on election day….
I think Biden was forced out of the race, or they would convene congress to remove him due to his failing cognitive health. Biden resented that, was powerless to stop it, but got back with some subtle and not so subtle statements against the Harris narrative.

I hope that the Democrats can be as graceful as President Trump was after they stole the election! They’ve been awfully quiet…
