Good to know....good grief!
Now, I know that TT would really have a hard time with this, somehow I suspect he'd find his Alaskan tough way to overcome and still wolf down those hamburgers.
From what I understand of this, there's a bacteria in these little buggers that begin to multiply in one's body. If one can get to antibiotics quickly after being bitten then they can stave off this stuff. And even if it's cropped up unbeknownst there are some anti-bacterial regiments a doctor out of Seattle has successfully developed. I don't know if this would work for this new issue.
I thought this was interesting from the OP article:
“Alpha-gal certainly in some of our patients can wane over time … for people who continue to get more tick bites it’s less likely to go away,” said Wilson. “For people who change their habits and do things to be more proactive about avoiding ticks, it’s more likely to go away over time.”
This makes me wonder if treatment for toxins might be a good answer. That would be great if activated charcoal could be helpful!
