Something Huge for the MAHA Movement Is About To Happen

Kennedy, who's been waging war against what he calls the "chemical-intensive processed foods" poisoning Americans, isn't exactly known for pulling punches. During his Senate confirmation hearing in January, he boldly declared what many of us have known for years: "Something is poisoning the American people." Now he's taking his fight directly to the corporate boardrooms of Big Food.

The timing couldn't be more perfect—or more terrifying—for these corporate executives. With the Health and Agriculture Departments set to craft new Dietary Guidelines for Americans this year, the stakes couldn't be higher. These guidelines shape everything from what our kids eat at school to what your doctor tells you about nutrition.

What's particularly interesting about this whole situation is that the Consumer Brands Association—the very group representing these food giants—initiated the meeting proposal back in February.

This could be a sign they’re willing to do what it takes to make foods healthy again, or they’re going to play offense against the changes Kennedy wants to make. So what’s going to happen with to their precious seed oils and chemical additives? Will Big Food capitulate to the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement?

I hope and pray he can do something to rein in the people making America and other nations ill.

The big corporations will do anything including seeming to cooperate as they drag their feet and introduce exemptions. Prayers for RFK!

I knew about bovine growth hormone in American milk, but only recently found out about a new growth hormone given to cattle (not steroids or antibiotics, but something new). - YouTube Sten Ekberg was talking about it here- it's called Ractopamine and the FDA considers it generally recognized as safe for Americans.

safe for Americans, but no one else . . .

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm . . .

and they've known about this FOR OVER A DECADE!

Banned in 160 Nations, Why is Ractopamine in U.S. Pork? (Op-Ed)

FWIW, ractopamine is on the banned list at WF

I didn't know it was in US pork. I love Johnsonville sausages- they are made in the USA - probably won't be able to get them for a bit, but @Ghoti Ichthus do you think they'd be using that in their pork supply? They are good quality, and one of the few certified gluten free available.

If it's banned at your Whole Foods, do they sell J'ville sausage there? that would mean it's ok! I trust their brand for safety- gluten free and hopefully free of this chemical too. As long as I can get them in Canada I will.

No Johnsonville at WF

I searched for Ractopamine on the Johnsonville website and no results.

Here's the Johnsonville website.
They have an 800 number

Thank you!

I fired off a polite request for reassurance that they don't use ractopamine treated pork. and a complement, because regardless, they do make a good product. I'll let you know what I find out.

And I got the reply this morning.

Here’s what they said, so they do have this in their pork

“Dear Margery,

U.S. food safety standards are among the most stringent in the world, and the pork that we use to make our sausage is in compliance with all federal regulations. The FDA has approved tolerance levels for ractopamine because it is considered a safe and effective feed ingredient. As such, it is possible that some of our hogs are given this as part of a healthy and balanced diet.

We truly appreciate you contacting us with your question; please feel free to contact us if you have any other questions and/or comments in the future. We would love to hear from you again!

Sincerely,

Sharon James

Edited to add:

this means she's saying YES they do use Ractopamine- and it's up to the hog farmer whether to use it or not. In the interest of profits it would make sense that if one hog farmer uses it, the rest will have to in order to keep up. This is why Canadian regulations don't allow the freedom for the farmers to use growth hormones and other additives in meat and dairy.

I'm looking forward to RFK dealing with the safety standards at the FDA, it is much needed. There's no way the US consumer (and others around the world) should be consuming ractopamine with their pork chop or sausage. Or in beef which it's used in as well.

Meanwhile this might be the reason the US Pork was refused entry to Canada if they've found out about this. The timing is still suspiciously close to the tariffs, but it might be on this alone.
