Singh says the NDP 'will vote to bring this government down' in new letter

After months of being non-committal, in a new letter, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh says his caucus "will vote to bring this government down," sometime in 2025.

In the letter, addressed to Canadians, Singh says he will "put forward a clear motion of non-confidence in the next sitting of the House of Commons," and "give Canadians a chance to vote for a government who will work for them."

This latest blow — seeing the NDP pull out the only pillar of parliamentary support the embattled Liberal government was relying on to stay in power — comes just ahead of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arriving at Rideau Hall to shuffle his cabinet(opens in a new tab).

"I called for Justin Trudeau to resign, and he should," Singh said, not specifying how early into the 2025 sitting this motion moving to defeat the prime minister's Liberal government could be advanced.

Yeah. An utterly meaningless message from Singh. The Trudeau government has to end in October 2025 anyway due to Canadian election laws. It appears to me that Singh has only propped up Trudeau's government to this point in order to get this parliament to continue to February when his gold-plated pension kicks in. After February he doesn't have to care whether he's personally defeated in an election or not: his big pension will be secure for the rest of his life.

Yeah, saw that with my morning coffee. Singh is good at clickbaiting Canadians.

The reality is that Parliament won't reconvene till the end of January, and even if Trudeau steps down, the Liberals need time to choose a new leader to go into elections. That means he has to prorogue things which is fancy talk for putting Parliament in suspended animation. And then the Liberals convene and choose a new leader, the election is called and we won't be voting before March.

All of which Singh knew when he tapdanced out of the 3 previous attempts at a non confidence motion which WOULD have allowed elections (the last attempt might have interfered by a few days on Singh's pension which is Feb 25.

So as long as Trudeau didn't step down before Parliament quit for Christmas, Singh was safe to announce anything he liked.

He is a liar and a traitor.

And just this morning on the heels of Singh's latest betrayal above came this story: - YouTube which I can't vouch for, but IF it's correct, the Indian news media has uncovered a nice paper trail that goes from the Sikh terrorist movement (yeah, it's not all muslims) straight to Singh and guess what, also Trudeau.

Not shocked actually!

Trudeau had help from the Chinese getting elected, and he's been blocking the names of the Canadian MPs who were on the Chinese govt payroll (as uncovered by CSIS our version of the FBI)

AND he's importing Gaza "refugees" by the truckload, and the Ontario police are siding with the muslim terrorists, this time they won't even call it antisemitism when this morning's news of another Jewish school being shot at came out. - YouTube

Poilievre just pulled out a never before used, long forgotten possibility. Now that Singh "says" the NDP will vote non confidence, Poilievre has written the Governor General (stands for King Charles) to state that now 70% of MPs and all official party leaders have lost confidence in Trudeau as PM. This triggers a constitutional reason to bring Parliament back out of Christmas hibernation mode, and call an election.

I didn't know this existed, and obviously Singh didn't (or he'd not risk his precious pension) so now the letter is before the Governor General to decide. If she follows the law that Poilievre dug up she has to call it.

It's getting really weird up here in the north country. We NEVER move on anything this fast. Pierre caught everyone by surprise. He announced he would - and he's already sent the letter. She doesn't have much choice unless Trudeau's team can pull an equally fast move to block it.

Soap opera territory. Not the norm for Canadians.
