Seek and Ye Shall Find

Goodboy

Just waiting for the Rapture at this point!
Seek and Ye Shall Find

Proverbs 8:17
I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

Luke 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
Luke 11:10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Most Christians use these verses to advise other Christians to ask God for what they want or need. While this is true, it is also for the unbelievers to seek after God. Why am I making this point? Because all we can really do is to get the unbeliever to seek God. The most common way we do this is to ask them to say the sinner’s prayer. You may say how does this get them to seek God? Well after they say the sinner’s prayer they are seeking God, as they will be expecting God to answer in some way.

When I said the sinner’s prayer I was expecting God to answer. Of course my expectation was he would respond in some really miraculously way or not at all. That did not happen, however he did respond in a way I cannot explain. I became so convinced that God and Jesus are real to the point that I never again doubted it. When I said the sinner’s prayer I had a lot of doubt but after about a month or so, God convinced me to where I have no doubt.

While this is how I got saved when I thought about it, that is how most people get saved. Let me explain. Most people have either very little or no faith in the Christian God at first. Some like me only have just enough faith to say the sinner’s prayer while our life is still good. Others, need something traumatic to happen to them before they will seek out God. However these people don’t believe any more than I did as they were really just desperate.

Well when you are desperate you will try anything, even if you doubt that it will work. As an example, suppose I told you that when your car battery is dead that you can use your cell phone to start your car. You would not believe it correct? However if you were in a situation where getting your car started was an emergency and nothing you tried was working, you just might try what I told you about the cell phone trick. Now if your car then started, that would mean that you only needed a very little bit of faith to start your car. Now that your car started, you would then have a lot of faith in my cell phone trick.

So I am saying that people only need enough faith to say the sinner’s prayer or seek out God themselves. We Christians like to speak about how much faith someone has to have to be saved, by saying things like how sincere was the person and did they truly believe. The Bible does not speak of how much faith we have to have to be saved, which is really just enough faith to seek out God either by saying the sinner’s prayer or just seeking him out in some other way.

When we seek God out for whatever reason, we will then find him!
