Russians chant ‘Putin is a killer’ in biggest act of defiance since war began

Crowds in Moscow shouted ‘Putin is a killer’ as they gathered for the funeral of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

Navalny’s supporters strongly believe the president is responsible for the 47-year-old’s death at a penal colony last month.

Today his coffin travelled in a hearse to the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God Soothe My Sorrows, in the Maryino district, where he has previously lived.

His coffin was carried inside while mourners applauded and called out ‘Navalny! Navalny!’ as large numbers of riot police watched on.

They are brave. You can bet your bottom ruble that the state police will be photographing all participants and tracking down their entire family tree as well as friends, business partners etc. With visits by the police to follow, loss of jobs, opportunities and threats to life and limb to follow.

I clicked on the link and read the article by "metro uk" and I watched the 2:38min video.
A few questions:
1. where is the proof that this is "the biggest act of defiance since war began" ?
did the press just make this up ?
2. where in the video are they shouting "Putin is a killer ?
all I can hear is "Russia without Putin"
3. where in the video is that "large number of riot police" ?
I can't see any !

I think this is just some more anti Russian Propaganda by the West, unless someone can answer me the
questions above.

Briefly looked at the still photos.
The riot police are the individuals lining one side of the crowd. In the one photo, they're on the tree side of the roadway. In the photos showing the crowds lining the street, they're at the fronts of the crowd by the clear section of the road. There are likely plain-clothes in the crowd, and other uniformed police/riot control police not shown in the pictures.

Standard crowd control/riot prevention procedures used all over the world.

My Russian speaker is now in God's presence otherwise I'd get him to translate any Russian language bits in a video. All I hear is the same as @Maranatha which is Navalny's name chanted (which is an act of anger and defiance) and Russia without Putin which is a good meaning from Rossiya Nyet Putin. (edited to add, directly translated it is Russia No Putin.

Inside Russia's Konstantin covered the protests as well in several of his videos but the one I paid most attention to was at the memorial the day after or two days after Navalny's murder in Kazakhstan here How Russians Are Honoring Alexey Navalny's Memory in which (unless YT edited it) Konstantin noted the presence of secret service photographing the attendees.

and he has a video on the funeral here: NAVALNY FUNERAL LIVE | Surrounded By Police, Anti-Putin Chants which I haven't had time to watch yet but Konstantin is usually pretty accurate.
