Just waiting for the Rapture at this point!
Resist the Devil
James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Ever wonder why the devil will flee from you when you resist him? Notice the verse does not say that if you resist the Devil, then God will chase him away. It says the devil will flee from you, meaning by his own choice. So why is that?
It is for the same reason that someone that likes to tease you in a negative way will stop if you have no reaction. Basically if someone is teasing you and getting no reaction they are losing and you are winning.
Picture this. Joe tells Frank “Watch this, I am going to make Sam cry!”. Joe goes over to Sam and teases him and Sam does not react. Well Joe has lost in his attempt and will look for someone else to tease. You see Joe wanted to win and control Sam’s reaction but if he can’t, he will try someone else where he can win.
The same is true of bully. Sometimes a bully is only that way because he is bullied by someone else, like his father for example. Now he wants to find someone he can bully or control. If he is unable to bully someone, he will find someone else who he can.
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Notice that 1 Peter 5:8 says the devil is “seeking whom he may devour”. Meaning he is looking for those he thinks he can devour or those who are weak. While you may have understood my point let me clearly state what I am getting at.
The Devil is extremely proud and hates to lose! Well if he is trying to control you and can’t, that really bothers him as he in effect is losing. So he moves on to find someone else he can control. If you know anything about Narcissists, they are the same way. If they can no longer control you, they will move on to someone else.
