Privatize the TSA: 3 steps to better service and enhanced security

TCC

Well-known

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has been the cornerstone of U.S. aviation security since its establishment in the wake of 9/11. During that time, it has been subject to much criticism – at times fair, at times not. Despite its imperfections, the men and women of TSA have achieved their mandate of securing the U.S. transportation sector for more than 20 years.

. . . . .

Looks like interests underway to abolish contemporary version of TSA. :)

I was having a think with my first coffee and figuring that when you privatize anything it's generally good because the consumer tells the company what to do and how far to take things.

Remove the ministry of Education and let parents and local school boards make decisions. Results- better education. (I forget what you guys call your ministry of ed down there)

Remove the ministry of Health and let people pay their own health costs from insurance they can shop across state or provincial lines for. -that removes the ministry of health killing off patients and creating long line ups to "save" money on health care costs which always seem to end up going to line someones pockets, never the benefit of the patient.

We did fine without the TSA's intrusive nature before 911 and we did go thru some spates of hijackers and planes but those usually settled down without having to give up nail clippers and a full bottle of sunscreen. Israel has done better than fine with all their flights- very few mishaps, and pre and post 911 they seem to spot the maniacal muslims in the crowds and give them the gears so I don't see why we can't borrow Israel's methods and do it better and cheaper than the TSA some of whom supplement their pay by stealing from those baskets they make you put your valuables in.

I was listening to a Jan Markell thingy and one of the guests pointed out that the govt is always asking silly questions like would you rather pay for Auntie's expensive cancer treatment at the ripe old age of 70 or pay for the little kids in grade 1 at school to get a good education? Like we have to choose between them.

We DON'T if we start letting the consumer of these "services" pay and tell the hospital, drs, school board, school teachers WHAT TO DO!
