Preparing for the Coming Persecution

Preparing for the Coming Persecution

Matthew 5:10-13 and following

Did you know that one of the signs we’re living in the last days is the persecution of the church.
As surely as I am standing here, the church will know more and more persecution. There is no way you can be a genuine Christian and be exempt.

2 Timothy “Yea, and all that will live Godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” That’s a pretty clear statement. “All” and “shall.” No ifs, ands, and buts about it.

The new whipping boy in the world today is the Bible-believing Christian. He may be the most hated, persecuted person on earth. Bible Christians today endure everything from the limitations of their freedoms and civil rights to scorn and ridicule in the media. Many are going through prison, and many through death.

In Matthew 5 our Lord Jesus said:

11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for My sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

The word “persecute” literally means to pursue, to find something you’re doing wrong. If you fly the flag high for the Lord Jesus Christ where you work, let them know you’re a Christian, they’ll watch you, looking for something to accuse you of.

There is a way you can escape persecution: just fail to be salt and light. Just compromise.

13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Be conformed to this world and you won’t get any persecution.

But one of your gifts is the ability to suffer for Jesus. “For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ not only to believe on Him but also to suffer for His sake” Phil 1:29.

As you live in these last days, prepare to learn and teach your children these three things:

1. Expect persecution

4 options for Christians under muslim persecution/sharia
1. Defy TPTB, remain steadfast in Christian faith, and suffer and possibly/probably die. One may be openly Christian or secret. One may passively or actively resist.
2. Leave the faith (convert or deny Jesus as Lord (God) and Savior) or otherwise capitulate to demands to abandon the faith)
3. Pay a tax (jizya) for the privilege of practicing Christian faith (dhimmitude)
4. Run away/evacuate.

Option #2 is unthinkable, as the end result is eternity in Hell :yikes:
Each Christian must decide among the other three which is best for him/her and his/her family. Biblical support for each choice, in which a Christian keeps his/her faith.

Please let's not turn this thread into OSAS can of worms.

If opting to flee, the most important thing to take with you is proof of persecution or threat. Newspaper articles, photos, notices/signs, served papers, documents, etc., which show threats, violence, destruction, seizure, deportation, special orders, hard persecution, discrimination, etc. If taking photos, if it looks as if the evidence is incidental to a photo of something innocuous, such as a photo of a baby, it might have a chance of making it out/through a checkpoint. Be careful of anything that has names, addresses, phone numbers, etc. of other believers, as TPTB can use them to locate and persecute other Christians. Be careful about what is on cell phones, including those belonging to children.

Make plans for each potential option/situation.

Have one's administrative and financial affairs in order. I posted an extensive list in another thread.

Vet friends and family now, while the consequences of a wrong decision are probably minor. Blabbermouths and overtrusting family members and friends can be as big a threat as someone that means you harm.

Memorize Scripture, hymns, etc. now, before Bibles, hymnals, etc. are banned and seized.

Consider hiding a Bible(s)

Be a member of a good, local church.

Much more . . .

A saved Christian, with the Holy Spirit in them, can never leave the faith, even if for a time they try and do so. OSAS.
Sadly, there are many unsaved "Christians" in this world, particularly in the West. And their numbers grow as the false gospel and the churches that proclaim it grow.

A long time ago I gave up asking people if they believe in Jesus: you can "believe" and not be saved. I mean that you can accept the fact that he lived and other historical facts about him, but never believe that you need a Savior and that He is that Savior, having paid the penalty you owe. So now I ask people, "When you die and stand before God, if He asks you 'why should I let you into My heaven', what will you say?" The truly saved will always answer "Jesus" in some form. The unsaved will reply with some sort of personal works or beliefs.

Agree, some are Christian in name only. But on my post, I wanted to clarify by adding “those with the Holy Spirit” in them, cannot be a false Christian, nor can they ever lose their salvation.

I agree. The "friend" claimed she's worthy because she works hard :(
Some new age people claim they're going to a higher plane of existence, and the ones that are really good get to be gods, and nothing about God :apost: :ban:
In some ways, it's actually easier to witness to muslims
