The gateway pundit is a bit over the top in their language and spin. Not saying there isn't a grain of truth.

We are NOT the USA- we do have different laws. Our gun laws are very different. We don't tolerate militias, particularly ones that "take forcible possession of land". That means they used arms to take land and hold it.

This is the biggest cache of arms and explosives ever found in one of these operations. It looks like 2 of the 4 men charged were also active members of the Canadian Armed Forces.

It is worrisome that they were planning to take and hold land. We have some of those "sovereign citizens" up here who have created a large headache for the police, and if these 4 were doing that with the land, I'm all for the police dealing with it before someone loses their life.

This is NOT a truckers protest, it is an armed militia cell that is trying to expand.

We don't need or want a Branch Davidian problem up here.

I agree that the Gateway Pundit consistently overstates news items.

A group had attempted to buy land near the Coeur d’Alene Indian rez about ten years ago. They were somewhat openly advertising for members to go in with them. They wanted to build an encampment where members were armed and committed to each other’s protection. Thank goodness their permit was not granted! It could have turned into another Wako Texas.

It’s difficult for me to find news coming out of Canada.

Because the UK has tossed some conservative Christians in jail for saying the wrong thing, I was concerned.

@Hol Rebel news is pretty good - they are solidly conservative, Canadian and pretty well researched and balanced and they live here so they are reporting the news as it happens here with the local context which helps. They are online, and self funded.

Globe and Mail is a newspaper out of Toronto that has a good mixture of reports from across Canada and the world. Several of the editors are very conservative and always hold the ruling govt's feet to the fire.

I'm finding US sources are going weird- either the right wing stuff is like Gateway- putting a conservative right wing American pov onto Canadian politics- which doesn't always reflect the reality up here

or worse yet, the leftists like MSNBC are trying to portray Canada as the last democracy hold out in North America and everything is way way overblown from a pro Canada, anti Trump, pro leftist, anti conservative lunatic fringe.

PS I looked for the news on this on the Rebel site, but couldn't find it- probably because Rebel buries older news under a flood of new stuff coming in. I looked in French as well because it was from Quebec City Quebec, but even that was buried deep and I ran out of time.

A whole lot of "conservative" news organizations go beyond overstating... more often than not, after you've read the article you come to realize that the article title was a full blown lie, written as it was to get your eyes on the article.

Calling good , evil ….. and evil, good comes to mind. Traditional anything ( marriage between one man / one woman let alone for life , the family unit, the defining of and acceptance a differing roles she attributes of make/ female etc )

Anymore stating a truth or exposing a lie , standing for a truth, supporting a truth , or sadly just expressing one’s view not only has gotten some fired, even arrested. Worse, things said or written years ago are coming back to haunt people even if it wasn’t particularly bad.

This is a progression towards complete totalitarianism… while other countries are leading the way , the US will eventually follow and as prophecied, the ultimate government of overreach will be formed … the warped inclusivity nonsense is just one supposed defense strategy they use, as is the subjective defining of “ hate speech “.

While the rapture may be close , all these concerning situations could very well get way worse before we are out of here and we may see the implementation of things that are the foreshadowing / precursors to what ultimately defines the 7 year TRIBULATION.
