North Korea may end up sending Putin 100,000 troops for his war

North Korea may deploy as many as 100,000 troops to aid Russia’s war on Ukraine if the alliance between Pyongyang and Moscow continues to deepen, according to people familiar with assessments made by some Group of 20 nations.

Kim’s decision to send North Korean troops to join Russia’s fight against Ukraine has alarmed Kyiv’s allies, who’ve warned that it risks exacerbating what is already Europe’s largest conflict since World War II. They believe the deepening cooperation between Putin and Kim could also impact the security balance in the Indo-Pacific region, where there’s mounting rivalry between China and the U.S.

The North Korean deployment shows the war is becoming globalized, and Scholz and Xi will need to discuss this new dimension of the conflict, the officials said.

Xi has been the biggest benefactor to Putin and Kim in recent years, and sees both leaders as partners in pushing against the U.S-led world order. But his government has remained silent publicly on the dispatch of North Korean troops to Russia — a sign the Chinese president may be unhappy with the arrangement.

And NK will get the benefit of battle hardened troops.

Methinks not very many. Between desertion/defection and casualties among the Soldiers, who are simply being sold as cannon fodder . . .

No Soldier anywhere should be treated or expended like the NK Soldiers are/will be :tap:

Quite frankly NK’s soldiers are skinny and underfed. They look weak. And I imagine that they have damaged bodies from all that stupid straight-leg marching they are made to do. It’s hard to imagine them doing anything effectively in an actual ground war. This is still very concerning however.

Starvation is an effective way of coercing "volunteers" :furious:  :apost: :ban:
As is holding families hostage :furious:  :apost: :ban:

Of course, the tactic of signs promising to feed is a wonderful way of avoiding unnecessary casualties on both sides :)
I hope the USSR doesn't resort to the age-old tactic of officers, etc. in the rear shooting any Soldier, who fails to fight or attempts to flee.

Hopefully, the parade marching is only for parades, and only ceremonial units are doing this.

Yeah and the first 10,000 that came over did very poorly and even some deserted the troops i heard

Between the desperation and moral bankruptcy of some countries, revealed by their sacrificing their own people by selling/trading them to USSR/Gog, and the high desertion/defection rates of the impressed/Shanghaied (adult) Soldiers, I suspect we'll start seeing child Soldiers soon
